Sir, what should I do with these?

The thing I love about cybertrucks is that they are just finger and handprint canvases. Smudgemobiles.

You need something else to go with perpetual doomposting. Nobody eats just steamed broccoli 3 meals a day.

Is there such a thing as a freelance eviscerator? I think I'm really good at evisceration, but I'm not sure that there's a market for it.

I wouldn't call that guy "smart." He just says stuff.

It's a 3D print fest at my folks' and I will finally have outlandish storage for my outlandish sunglasses as a result.

"You got a beer?"
"Yeah I decided to slow down."
"... You slowed down with an 11% beer?"
"Yeah...?"

Happy New Year, humans.

Anthem is all over Ohio now, right?

I guess we gotta totally bottom out.

Same. I have gotten better at falling back asleep eventually, but it took more than a year. It's like trying to guess the code on a combo lock in the dark with your fingers covered in oil.

A couple years ago I put a $2,000 guitar in my son's list and someone told me that it wasn't a reasonable gift for a 4 year old. Really?!

I love putting something like a huge chainsaw in my 2 yr old daughter's Christmas wishlist. Family contact me with "I think you have things for your list in hers..." and I say "Oh no, she asked for a chainsaw. A big one." They can't tell if I'm serious or not. It's a holiday gift to myself.

Are yours slotted straight back? I thought about doing that but the door on my wall can slam with a wind and I pictured my chisels flying off the wall and smashing on the concrete floor.

I don't pretend to have any ability there. That's beyond what I can do.

My students asked me if they could just watch me make a map and explain what I'm thinking as I do it. I don't know if this is a good idea. I'm mostly just swearing in my head.

Nice work. I had planned to go the mortise route like you did, but then I would end up having to lift the chisels up further to get them out. That would interfere with my screwdriver rack. I'm at the point where I need more compact storage everywhere.

I make sure to have a small woodworking project at the end of every semester to keep sane and get away from screens. I decided a chisel rack made out of scrap cherry would do the trick this go 'round.

I always minimize power tools. I saw, drill, plane by hand.

As a tool guy, I have seen certain tools climb in price or discounts eliminated quickly. These importers are not only stocking up, they're figuring out how to squeeze out a few more bucks around the holidays than they normally would. Buyers are also expecting higher prices, and they know it.

The choropleth is total megawatt produced per 1,000 people. The graduated symbol clusters represent total MW produced by coal, nuclear, hydro, wind, natural gas and solar.

But I always have designs on having students recreate old school American Agricultural Census maps. One day.
