You know the Supreme Court be playing fast and loose with the shadow docket but I'm telling you, qualified immunity cases? Some of the fastest and loosest

If they're going to do anything serious Jalen Johnson needs to take one more leap and become an undeniable scorer, even against playoff defenses.
A remarkable reinvention from the leaky Trae Young era that lived and died by whether he could do 30-10 every night into a top-5 defensive team in the league with three point snipers scattered around the court.

Vladeck, aflame: “Roberts didn’t change his mind sometime between 2016 and 2025; he’s just being a hypocrite. It’s irreparable harm for Republican presidents; just not Democrats”
“a pretty powerful rejoinder to those who have insisted that the Court’s internal debates in these [shadow docket] cases are rigorous and deeply substantive.”
Judges can scold lawyers or they can issue opinions finding that agents are not engaged in actions necessary to performing a legitimate federal function, clearing the way for state criminal prosecutions. More should consider (b).
Lots of partnerships directly with Palantir at this point, not even via other apps. It needs to get the same treatment ShotSpotter got.
If anyone wants to know how I'm feeling about the game I've already assembled a piece of furniture this morning. #coyg
Starting to become increasingly clear that rejection of Palantir needs to be a litmus test for anyone who wants to lead a local law enforcement agency. Start calling your Mayors, City Councils, and City Managers.
Every time a Democrat mentions how to talk to "ordinary people" they mean "how I was told to talk by a handful of weirdo consultants in DC with gross fixations on throwing certain groups under the bus and who would not last a day in an ordinary job interacting with ordinary people."
With 20 new agreements added to ICE's spreadsheet today, the 287(g) program now has 1,697 active agreements with 1,432 local and state law enforcement agencies in 39 US states, Guam, & CNMI.

I also do wonder whether higher starting prices have anything to do with this.
A 64% increase from $1.00 to $1.64 might hit psychologically different than a 36% increase from $5.00 to $6.80. Humans aren't great at statistics.
Dear god. Very, very serious allegations of mass civil rights violations at the State of Florida's Everglades immigration detention center (officially known as "Alligator Alcatraz").

Trump: "it's such an honor to meet you, and I think you voted for me, I think?"

The entire labor movement went "oh, in that case, fuck Cesar Chavez" but there are people on here who still think every allegation against a guy they like on MSNBC is the work of Roger Stone, a man who hasn't been an effective operative since I was a child

NEWS: Today @mayorbowser.dc.gov unveils her proposed 2027 budget. It's $12.7 billion, a 3.3% decrease from last year. As expected, there are cuts to a key child care fund, as well as a paid leave program, and affordable housing. Healthcare for low-income residents is spared, though.
This is some of the best advice Christy has ever given me, and advice I am often passing on to other folks. Don't fall in love with your solution. Fall in love with solving the problem.
Genuinely lucky to have her as a boss!

Boston Globe mock front page from April 9, 2016. Date says April 9, 2017, with giant headline “DEPORTATIONS TO BEGIN” and “Markets sink as trade war looms.”
Ten years ago today, in April 2016, the Boston Globe printed a satirical front page imagining a future Trump administration. The page was called "alarmist," "hyperbolic," "dystopian." But we’ve put up with so much since then it now looks like . . . a slow Thursday?
