In the same manifesto, Palantir's owners argued that we need a national military draft, that soft power is over, and that we were too hard on Germany and Japan after World War II. I don't think that company should be allowed to exist anymore.

I'm not joking when I say mRNA technology is more important than "AI" and it's a tragedy we're throwing billions into one while our government is aggressively defunding the other.
The New Yorker, "Wondering why people are pining for old technologies - CD players, VCRs, Walkmans. What's behind our longing for inconvenience?"
Inconvenience? I just had to dig seven pages deep to find the unsubscribe for one of the four TV subscriptions I need, I'm measured & optimized against in my supermarket, lamps, music, games, and travel. Every service I love gets enshittified to buy billionaires yachts worth 100 times my house.
The desperate campaign to push AI down our throats is just what Nestlé did with baby formula, or Monsanto with patended seeds.
Manufactured Intermediation—inserting a corporate tollbooth into a process that used to be self-sustaining, using a low initial barrier to entry to destroy the alternative.
Does he... Does he not know that he is the tyranny of evil men? Does he not know that his boss is the inequities of the selfish?
It gave you a present!
"Viewpoint diversity," is just their way of saying, "Let the nazis talk!🤡" It's silly and I don't have time to pretend that it's not.
But when people complain about the left not "being unified" and "always disagreeing with each other?" That's real viewpoint diversity. That's supposed to happen.
Billionaires get paid in stock worth billions.
They use that stock as collateral to borrow billions.
They use those borrowed billions to buy everything, including media outlets which then pump bullshit like this to keep you in the dark about the tax loopholes designed just for them.
Owwww!
a criminal conviction isn’t required to say someone does not have the moral character to run for office and i don’t understand why this needs to be said over and over and over again.
My school did not have uniforms. They tried to ban wearing all black. It did not go well
Aww shucks
Seems like it should be bigger news that Sam Altman is being sued for raping his own sister when she was a child
if you invented public libraries today, every opinion page in the country would be arguing for means tested subsidized Amazon Prime memberships
The obvious question is to ask what is the point of the article. And the answer is means testing. By saying the rich don't deserve public goods it makes it easier to say someone just above the poverty line doesn't either. They want public goods to be shit.
In this year of 2026 if you absolutely have to run your mobile, international event in America - and you choose to run it in Texas, Tennessee, or Florida, that is certainly a choice that reflects which of your members or employees you see as human.
Oh for fucks sake
Vote for genocide because you don't have a choice is not the winning argument you seem to think it is
Human rights, usually
Which is not to say that we don't have an awful lot of common ground. We do, to be sure. Certainly moreso than with conservatives
By *your* definition which is not shared by any of the leftists I know
Liberals don't actually want to be leftist they just want leftists to vote for liberals. Sure, lots of leftists do vote for liberals for a lot of reasons, but that doesn't make them the same.
When leftists say liberals aren't leftists, it's not like a social club trying to gatekeep. Its saying we have fundamental philosophical differences and liberals don't believe in the core tenets of leftism.
Leftism begins at anti capitalism. Liberalism is still capitalism
I dunno I think "were Harry Potter books good" is a completely irrelevant question to the moment. like, you don't need to avoid them because they're artistically bad, you need to avoid them because there are concrete, specific ways that interacting with them funds Nazi stuff
i'm worried about all the people who are going to die this winter being forced to choose between food, fuel, rent, and power
So stylish! I can't wait to get mine
There are too many atrocities to keep track of them all
I don't know who needs to hear this but clean out the drain plug in your sink that shits nasty
The lesson here warrants repeating, with stories like this, until people get it: Surveillance is surveillance. No matter who builds it for what ends, others may use it for their own.
