Texas was one of a minority of states that did not implement a forced sterilization law even though eugenics thoroughly saturated the culture. We explore the reason for that outcome.

Last Tuesday, Betsy Friauf and I made presentations at Texas A&M University based on our book “The Purifying Knife: The Troubling History of Eugenics in Texas.” We had a good crowd that asked smart questions. On Tuesday we bring our road show to Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth.

It's time to remove Henry Wade's name from the Dallas County Juvenile Justice Center. Wade, made infamous for his part in the Roe v. Wade case, was Dallas DA from 1951-1988. He railroaded innocent people to the electric chair & persecuted the LGBTQ+ community. There are better people to honor.
