Yes but it comes down to the meaning of “or,” as in the legal owner OR the beneficial owner. Will we be compensated at all if we are merely the latter but not the former?

Hm what is a “capacity for personhood”? I presume you mean moral personhood?
We need to distinguish between AI models that are derivative of many other models and AI models that are deliberately generated to look like specific human models.
I think that concern is orthogonal to the bigger one- replacing human talent with AI.
If this can be done non-profits should be lining up to support this effort on a mass scale.
