Ben Stiller is calling out the White House after it used a clip from Tropic Thunder in a video promoting the Iran war.
“We never gave you permission and have no interest in being part of your propaganda machine. War is not a movie,” Stiller wrote.

DHS claimed "an ICE agent had fired 'defensive shots' into Martinez's vehicle after Martinez 'intentionally ran over' another agent."
But body cam video now "shows that Martinez's vehicle, a blue Ford Fusion, was stationary or going at a very low rate of speed when he was fatally shot."

This new way of doing things appears to be corrosive not just to students but also to teachers. Koebler’s investigation shows that the AI lobbyists courted schools by making appeals to instructors, showing them that the likes of ChatGPT would make curriculum-building and assignment-giving that much easier. Now, teachers, too, seem to be taking the easy way out, as a recent New York Times story shows that college professors have been using chatbots to create their lesson plans, just as their students are using them to complete said lesson. The result of all of this is so obvious that it doesn’t really bear repeating, but I guess will anyways: Everybody who uses AI is going to get exponentially stupider, and the stupider they get, the more they’ll need to use AI to be able to do stuff that they were previously able to do with their minds. The tech industry’s subscriber-based, “as-a-service” model is obviously on full display here, except that the subscription will be to intellectual capacity. The more you subscribe, the less “organic” capacity you’ll have.

Today is the launch day for "The Last Gift!"
Sophia enthuses:
"It was a moving, funny, and brilliantly well-written universe, where Jane Austen’s books are in one world.
"The ending had me absolutely choked up. It was so well-written! Words cannot describe it."

Also take note of their masks - as the administration demands that Columbia et al ban masks on campus, so they can identify protesters more easily.
The Mayor of Somerville, MA (where this took place) says that the mostly masked ICE agents misidentified themselves as "police" even though they had no connection with either Somerville or Tufts police. whdh.com/news/video-r...

Kelly: When I was flying in combat over Iraq during the first Gulf War, I didn’t expect that there was a 10-year-old kid sitting in South Africa who would one day become the richest guy in the world and call me a traitor for doing my job. Now, he kind of acts like a 12-year-old kid
