The Angel Runs for Office - Palette Poetry "the angel spends / his afternoons, ears pressed to the dirt, cataloging their theologies."

It still feels weird to share good news, given the state of the world, but a huge thank you to Palette Poetry for featuring this piece on their website!

The Brackish Pool: Towards a Critical Practice of Reading Weird Fiction The ideal reader of the weird has to embrace a kind of wilful suspension of foreknowledge or generic expectation.

Feels weird to post any good news at the moment. But, thank you to @megapolisomancy.bsky.social for including my short story in his incredible discussion of Weird Fiction. So cool to see this in @strangehorizons.bsky.social.

BREAKING NEWS: Actual facts appear for the first time on "Truth" Social.

Standing with the artists canceling their appearances at the Kennedy Center. This isn’t about careers or politeness — it’s about refusing to legitimize injustice. When institutions demand silence and “business as usual,” walking away is the only honest choice.

The people of Chicago won

Trump, Kristi Noem and ICE lost

Not only did Greg Bovino and his agents leave the city in disgrace

A judge ruled that they must release as many as 615 unjustly detained immigrants

Plus-they must stop pressuring immigrants to voluntarily leave

Never
Stop
Resisting

Teaching at multiple universities means I have much less free time than I would ideally like. I will use EVERY SECOND OF THAT TIME TO GO DOOR TO DOOR FOR ANYONE WHO PRIMARIES THE SEDITIOUS 8 OR SCHUMER. No more cowards in elected office. @kaine.senate.gov @fetterman.senate.gov @schumer.senate.gov

The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.

Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.

Senators on the brink of retirement who lived full, wealthy lives and never feared the loss of their own healthcare voting for their constituents to die from their inability to afford the same is treasonous

An agreement to agree to do a later vote is NOT an enforceable contract so what in the actual hell are Americans getting out of this deal??

5 months ago 21642 4397 1751 378

The DNC Chair stands with House Dems to block this deal.

As always, it's feckless leadership and cowardice in the Senate that fucks everything up.
