I'm doing copy-edits now (for two different books!) and whenever I get to one of those (sadly correct) notes that identifies a timeline issue or a plothole, I'm basically like
"Well, I guess I'll delete the book now and walk into the woods."
GO QUEEN GO
*grips your shoulders* do not look a gift horse (person with disposable income) in the mouth. Make money!!
ITS CAUSE YOURE BEAUTIFUL AND TALENTED
You have more in common with the people of Iran than you do with anyone in this administration, any member of the technocracy, anyone who is profiting from this war, or any billionaire. When you see Iranians forming human chains outside key infrastructure sites, you should feel a sense of kinship.
Let me say this plainly: Iranian children have as much of a right to live and thrive as American children.
Their babies MUST be as precious to me as my 6 niblings and my baby grandnib are IF I want them to have a future.
If I want a future for my kin AND humanity, I MUST act like it.
So must you.
Y'all there is a woman and a black man circling the moon and NASA's mission control+ science teams are so diverse and people are nerding out about science and exploration this is all a gigantic middle finger to the stupid and hate and grotesque ghouls running our country
I'm obsessed πππ need on my shelves now!!
Aww thank you! π₯°π₯°
A brown background with white text that reads: The Vengeance of Sons by Jason L. an agent's guide
A trope list that steadily gets more unhinged, starting with "YA romantasy" and going to "If you've ever looked at the girl disguises as a boy trope and thought it was trans, this is the book for you" and "The trauma didn't make him kind, it made him a bit of an a-hole". There is also a pitch, that reads: Ten years after an empress slaughtered his family and conquered his country, trans male former princess Finn has returned home with one goal, to take it all back. Prince Rory, on the other hand, is just trying to survive in an empire where discovery of his illegal magic could get him killed. When the boys cross paths, sparks fly, even as Finn starts leaving bodies for the empress to find. After Rory is assigned by his mother to find the mystery killer, a game of deadly cat-and-mouse begins, and the boys must make a choice: cling to each other and risk their lives, or cling to revenge and lose a chance at love.
Four comp titles are listed: Heartless Hunter by Kristen Ciccarelli, This Woven Kingdom by Tahereh Mafi, Queen of Faces by Petra Lord, and Prince of Fortune by Lisa Tirreno. There is an excerpt of a scene where Prince Rory is talking to Finn, and Finn says, "I'm not good with this." "With what?" Rory crossed his arms. "Feelings." Finn said the word like it was gross. "Life would be so much easier if no one cared about anyone." He threw the knife again. "Why do you say that?" Rory asked. "Because," Finn said, yanking the knife from the post. "Maybe we're not so different. Your sister. My family." He talked like he was uncomfortable. "Is that bad?" Rory raised an eyebrow. He couldn't see why similarity wasn't a good thing. "No. Yes. I don't know." This last, said by Finn.
Three memes in a mood board: One is a text message conversation that reads: can you come collect your freak of a man please, he's doing things. The reply is: No I set him loose on purpose. He needs enrichment. Another is a Tumblr post that reads: love when a dynamic is like. this would be deeply toxic for anyone else but considering the people involved this is actually far and away the healthiest option. The final post reads: First off through unimaginable violence all things are possible so jot that down.
Coming now to the query trenches! My We Need Diverse Books mentorship project, THE VENGEANCE OF SONS, is ready to send out! Here's the #agentsguide

A tumblr post where an account asks "Drake?" another replies, "Josh?" And the original account replies "where's the body of Christ?" There is an image below that shows an open tomb, with Drake and Josh from the show Drake & Josh standing in front of it.
I'm not christian but happy easter from Drake & Josh

There is power in not giving something attention. Do not interact with the rage bait.
Two boys lean their foreheads together in a black and white digital drawing. One has dark hair and scars, the other is blonde with nicer clothes. There is an arrow pointing to the dark haired boy that has a label of "god's favorite chew toy", and the label for the blonde boy reads "god's favorite"
it's my guys from my mentorship project β¨β¨ no I will not elaborate β¨β¨

Lio Fotia I'd die for you π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯ amazing art!!
I love not using AI. I love reading books written by human beings, hand-sewing little creatures, watching for bats during dusk, listening to human experts to learn about a topic. Not using AI is very fun.
"died and came back wrong" is the trope of all time
like what do you mean I brought you back from the grave because I couldn't live without you, and now I fear I've made a grave mistake. Who are you. Who are you.
Everyone get more unhinged now
With the new Harry Potter trailer dropping today, now is a better time than ever to remind everyone that J. K. Rowling's name appears in the Epstein files where she calls Epstein "a very dear friend".
Potterheads, I hope the nostalgia was worth crushing little girls' dreams you nostalgia fucking twats.

Watching childrenβs publishing shutter imprints while going all-in on the romantasy adult collector market is so bleak
HAPPY IDES OF MARCH!!

Out of creamer? You can put ranch dressing in your coffee. Nobody will stop you.
Would love it if romantasy wasn't synonymous with cishet but here we are
Of course there are queer romantasies, but they get a fraction of the hype cishet ones do.
Sincerely, a trans guy writing a gay trans romantasy-thing

Picture of Marjane Satrapi alongside a quote from her. The quote reads: The world is not divided into countries. The world is not divided between East and West. You are American, I am Iranian, we don't know each other, but we talk together and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you. And our governments are very much the same... - Marjane Satrapi, Iranian-French graphic novelist
Thinking about this quote from Persepolis creator Marjane Satrapi again.
Finished my revisions!! Capped out at 78,900 words. Finally in the ballpark for YA fantasy πππ
