it’s honestly impressive how I’m able to overthink the music I’m working on to the point of stalling out the creative process indefinitely lol

Also yeah reminder to replace your earpads sometimes!! They can genuinely affect how your headphones sound, not to mention all of the skin/hair oil and sweat over time… It’s worth it.

in this case the pads were already a bit worn out and weakened so I get why this one just entirely ripped apart… still questionable design not having a proper release or leverage point aside from the material of the pads themselves

It doesn’t really matter since I’m taking them off to replace them anyway but if anyone has ever replaced earpads on HD650s, can we agree that the way you’re supposed to remove them is so stupid?? Even when you’re careful the pads literally start to peel apart…

can you really call them an inspiration of yours if they don’t make you want to quit music sometimes

like I know comparison is the thief of joy and all that but damn, it just makes me feel like I'm bad because I can't seem to make something both complex and complete

so... I finally push through and just make a track without focusing on complexity and realize, 'wow, this is actually good even if it's pretty simple!'

...and then I go listen to music I like and immediately remember why I overengineer and start feeling bad about the simplicity again... guh...
