Noticing that a lot of modern spy thrillers have to sort of lampshade the fact the whole organization is bad and shouldn’t exist early in the story so they can get around to:

- addressing a fantastical threat
- doing something that proves what was said but, like in a good way this time, promise

Today in Blades ‘68: two members of the militants got a briefcase from one of the Keel twins. The safe exploded killing a twin and throwing the Radical out a window. The Operative dove after, admitted to the Radical who they worked for. Inside the briefcase? A severed hand holding a newspaper sheet.
