There were no 'red flags' Ms Barnett. There was a long list of risks that they decided to mitigate.
We're looking at this because you, Ms Barnett, and a bunch of politicians that just want to disrupt.

Mason and Robinson continuing to speculate about speculation.
What a waste of time.
Just reinforcing their hate of Labour.

The blockade simply illustrates that we have an extraordinary and very unhealthy dependence on a fuel that is killing the planet.

Ms. Barnett still does not get it that security vetting isn't a pass or fail. Risks are identified and mitigations would be agreed.
Seems worse to me that Robinson was sacked than Mandelson being appointed.

It is.
Pathetic, really.
#bbcnews and #r4today are supposed to be news organisations, but they keep regurgitating the same tired views.

I really wish Robinson had asked Milliband about progress on getting the large, off shore wind power plants on stream. Does Robinson know anything about the Dogger Bank Wind Plant? Its 3.6 GW, that's equivalent to nuclear power plant.
Robinson only wants O&G.

Vetting is an advisory process where the "problem" can be mitigated.
Johnson got a negative vetting before May made him Foreign Sec. She still did it.
It's not clear to me what would happen if the vetting identifies a criminal offence. Is that roo bug a res flag to ignore.

Its just oil.
O&G should be used for chemical precursors. Burning it is ridiculous.

Sorry, (BP) Prof Butler, increasing O&G production is not going help fill a gap in the next few weeks is it?
Prof, we need to wean ourselves off O&G ASAP.

needs to be clear that smartphones are not the problem for young people, its the SM platforms. They are deliberately addictive. Its advertising revenue.

Of COURSE he's insider trading. He's a crook, he's ALWAYS been a crook, he's using the presidency to make billions.

He ran to stay out of jail, to make money and to feel powerful, because that's what a narcissist like him gets off on. It was never about helping people.

Climate Change Concern Near Its High Point in U.S. The 44% of U.S. adults who currently worry "a great deal" about climate change or global warming is near its 46% high point from 2020.

US elites decided, like a school of fish, that climate concern is old, boring, "woke," square, not hip & popular any more. As usual, it was based almost entirely on internal elite dynamics. It had nothing to do with the actual public, which is more concerned than ever.

Fun fact that lying UK journalistic hacks won’t tell you because they hate Labour: Boris Johnson did not pass vetting when Theresa May appointed him Foreign Secretary. #UKPolitics

China exports a ton of cleantech — and the world is poised to want… The nation’s battery and EV exports in particular have grown in recent years. Now, the Middle East war could spur even more demand for Chinese…

China should be throwing Trump parades.

Justin, forget NS O&G, the first two phases of the Dogger Bank wind power plant will be completed in 2026. That's 2.4 GW, half a nuclear power plant built in a 10th of the time that Hinckley C has taken so far.
Want to chat about that?

I think people hear 'undergrounding' and think it would be completely undisruptive. It's not, the size of these cables means it's like digging a dual carriageway under the landscape. But often I feel it's just a way of getting green projects cancelled as people know at heart it's not economical.

Quite. And the wording from the IMF was "reliance on O&G", full stop.
France is more resilient because they have nuclear.

Can't help feeling that The Trrasury could have mentioned that HMG has agreed to give Rolls-Royce nearly £600m to develop small reactors that will be built at Wylfa plant on Anglesey.

Robinson, how many times, using o&g from the North Sea won't help. It's sold on the open market.

Even a factor of 10 would be helpful.

It is a good thing to do, but the increasing availability of EVs with Vehicle to Grid is a game changer.
