That’ll do.
Guaranteed third tier football next season, sitting in mid-table, some good cup ties. Suddenly the whole season looks a lot rosier #DRFC

Big win for #DRFC that, to move us firmly back into ‘more or less there now’ territory.

(*didn’t dare post this after the goal)

I see the FA are pissing about with the women’s football pyramid in a way they wouldn’t dare try and do with the men’s, again.

Well, we’ve had better Easter weekends.

Two defeats and we’ve gone from being just about safe to being dragged back into the fight to avoid the last relegation spot.

Big couple of games ahead

It might not be MATCHDAY for us, but it is Non-League Day across the country.

So if you're after a football fix this Saturday afternoon, why not support your local non-league club?

There's some great action out there this @nonleaguedayuk

Had we not chucked away a three-goal lead against Wigan we’d be in the top half.

50 points on the board.
Probably a win away from staying in the division.

Whenever #DRFC write ‘That’s the break’ I spend the whole second half with ‘That’s the Joint’ by Funky 4+1 stuck in my head.

Anyone else?

…no?

…still, 1-0 though… Yoooouuuu Rrrrrreeeeeddss!

An open page of issue 463 of When Saturday Comes magazine featuring and article titled ‘Yorkshire Grit’ by Glen Wilson (me!) as part of the ongoing Shelf Life series on loved football books. The subheading reads ‘Pete Davies' I Lost My Heart to the Belles goes behind the scenes at one of the pioneering clubs in women's football’. The words of the article are blurred out, because you should buy it.

An excerpt from a piece I (Glen Wilson) wrote for WSC in 2020 about attending the first football match with attending fans during the Covid-19 pandemic. The excerpt reads ‘After months of football played toacanned chant soundtrack it's refreshing to hear a live crowd reacting naturally. Football fans aren't generic; that's the joy in them. For all the advancements of audio technology, no sound engineer in the world would think to inject a high-pitched "Fucking get hold of the fucking ball!" five minutes in. Yet a home fan beneath me does so effort-lessly, like he's never been away.’

The latest issue of @wsc.co.uk is out now, the 40th anniversary issue, and features words by me.

I reviewed Pete Davies’ brilliant book on a season with Doncaster Belles for the Shelf Life series.

I also make a cameo in their look back over WSC’s last/first 40 years, which was a pleasant surprise.

A stunning winner and flying bricks - Doncaster Rovers fans recall last win in Rotherham 41 years on The human mind can work in mysterious ways.

Big local derby for #DRFC tomorrow. Hard to believe it's 41 years since Rovers experienced any joy in Rotherham.

A terrible record that's matched only by the population of Rotherham.

Will either team manage a shot on target that isn’t a penalty?

That’s not for us to say

Every time I look at the League One table there’s at least one team that prompts me to go ‘Really?! How the f*** did you end up there?’

So congratulations this week to Lincoln City, and Wigan Athletic

That said, even though we continue to boycott this trophy, Huddersfield failing to score any of their four penalties is still very very funny
