I was really hoping he'd have been arrested for DWI, running a red light, and leaving the scene of an accident by now.

Sticking his tender bits in a bear trap, being surprised by the inevitable result, and then trying to threaten the trap into submission is going about like you’d expect it to.

Fifty years ago this would be printed by mimeograph and handed out by a dodgy guy sitting behind a card table in front of the supermarket.

Can't wait to see what this does to the markets. You'd think they'd have figured out by now that he can't be believed.

Vintage Sixfinger toy (“The most amazing toy ever!”), which is a toy gun that looks like an index finger, that had swappable functions - including a cap bomb, a ballpoint pen, SOS, shooting a secret bullet, shooting a secret message, and shooting a fragmentation bomb

I don’t want to point any fingers, but we used to be a country of genuine innovation.

This was big when I was in Kindergarten.

Yeah, I'm old.

One kid had one, and I was so jealous.

How insane do you have to be to care if a grocer sells halal, or kosher (for that matter), meat? I'm sure they sell plant-based too.
It's called doing business, not woke.

Remembering a funny incident from the late 80s, as I recall.
Zocchi, who was a practicing magician (web page probably long gone), also had a ventriloquist act.

He performed it at game conventions. One year, his dummy was stolen! It was returned months later.

Carson, watching TV. It's saying "Before beginning this
pentagon prayer meet,
let me address the  fake
and Totally unpatriotic
press, which reported that
i, your Kick-asS, ripped,
and never at all drunk
secretary of war,
quoted pulp fiction,
believing it to be
biblical verse!"

Then, "Hic."

Zocchi was best known, eventually, as the Dice Guy. High quality polyhedra dice in a dazzling variety of colors and shapes. 100 sided dice, 30 sided dice.

But he designed wargames and published RPGs, and his company distributed games from dozens of companies.

RIP Lou Zocchi, game designer, distributor, and industry advocate.

He designed the SECOND grown-up game I ever purchased, "Alien Space." I still have my copy from 1974, and a later edition.

I'll take photos when I am back from vacation.

I'm starting a vacation tomorrow. Beginning it knowing he's gone would just totally rock.

Keep pushing back against the haters and cranks.

They're not invincible.

These facists bound to lose.

Link to the ruling. I am not sure I’ve seen a judicial opinion with this many tweet screenshots in it before storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

Photo I took of these wonderful people (the faces of whom I’ve blacked out) singing happy Birthday to their lovely old dog at a bar I was at tonight in Portland

I was at a dog-friendly bar in NW Portland tonight and a table behind me started singing Happy Birthday and then I realized it wasn’t for a person but a really old dog who was wearing a crown and he was old and fucking adorable and I love this city

We visited Denali National Park a few years ago. The hotel complex had nice laundry rooms, which we needed badly at that point.

But using the machines meant downloading an app, creating an account, loading it with money from a credit card, and taking a picture of bar code.

I want to own the music I buy. I don't want it to be stored somewhere in the cloud, where it might be available when I want to listen to it, unless it got removed from the library randomly. I don't want to pay a subscription fee. I just want to own the music I buy.

Still terrified of Bigfoot, to judge from a lack of appearances in the Pacific Northwest.

This morning's sunrise dog walk featured a homeless person's tent pitched right over a sidewalk.

I hope they clear out before the cops harass them.

(Likely the cops know about it and are waiting for daytime. No great harm given the area.)

New York City has like 3 alleys. There's that one in Chinatown, that one in the LES, and the one near the REI that's near the library. You have seen each of them like seventeen thousand times on various iterations of Law and Order.

Former Ukrainian DJ and his erotic novel-writing wife linked to ‘Russian Pearl Harbor’ that wiped out aircraft Russia has launched a massive manhunt for a former DJ and his wife after they were linked to Ukraine’s stunning “Russian Pearl Harbor” attack on its airbases.

This definitely feels like a future @margaret.bsky.social Cool People Who Did Cool Stuff episode.

I'll check the roll I bought.

I thought there was a chase in the house, which would have made things so easy. Still a possibility I could run it down along an AC duct

Hopefully I can just lay them in place. They should be wide enough to span three rafters.

Boards salvaged. Two were too big to fit in the car. But . . . maybe enough?
