that realization being i don't have to be consistent 100% of the time and i don't need to just make cute shit because that's what most people are making. just do whatever man
idk what im trying to say because i'm trying to form a thought after midnight lmao, this isn't even really as much about the og post (idek what copying supposedly happened/is happening) but moreso contextualizing this in a way that fits what realization i've come to recently
the hard part is figuring out the balance between what you personally like making vs. what sells best. you can easily get caught in up in following popular artists, seeing what they're doing, wanting to do the same to get similar results, so on. but you lose out on your personality.
in relation to lrt:
i think that this may be the reason why i was feeling so down about art for so long, aside from life getting rough. i'm still fairly new to having an art business and i'm always worried about what others are making, what the art styles of popular products look like, etc.
Inspiration is everywhere, and it's OKAY to be inspired by your peers, but holy shit, just SAY what you were inspired by.
It's up to you to decide if you are gonna cultivate community with your peers, or constantly be looking over your shoulder with a winner takes all approach.
