I've been thinking about this more on this trip, traveling alone, and seeing very few women do the same, but for men, traveling alone looks natural. For me, it's natural. I like my gender fine, I just wish it was actually treated equally.

I had this really interesting realization recently remembering the thrill I got being called by my last name by a teacher who only usually did that for boy students. And it was never that I wanted to be a boy; I wanted to be considered a *full person* like the boys naturally were.

I have nothing on the schedule tomorrow except to sleep in, take the water taxi around to the outer islands, and see what happens. Maybe I'll see glass blowing. Maybe I'll ride a gondola. Maybe I'll murder a man and assume his identity. Last full day in Venice! Anything could happen!

Am riding a wave of inspiration by a Venetian bookstore/cafe, so yeah I ordered a third glass of white wine. Apologies to the Doge, as I might be tipsy when I tour your palace later.

I deserved the nap I took after! And the big bowl of gnocchi after that! And the glass of wine (or two) I am enjoying by the canal before I head into the heart of tourist madness for my Doge’s Palace tour!!

Honestly, taking an 80 minute Venetian rowing class early in the morning was one of the coolest experiences of my life plus I ADORED chatting with my teacher, who had opinions on Jannik Sinner and they were all correct ones!

Spent the morning learning how to row the canals of Venice so I will take a luxurious European nap now if I want to.
