rain dropping from a leaftip
into something new

(what an awful phrase)
out walking
with your dog
now my dog
I would find myself humming
a song I used to #sing
“There is someone,
walking behind you,
Turn around,
look at me…”
and I knew
I just knew
it was you
letting me know
after

If you are afraid
to #sing, to dance,
to speak because
you once battled
the system
and lost.

Time for round two.
You are more
prepared now.
