Today's Gratitude: The 5th garden bed is now full. A full trailer of compost got moved yesterday. Mixed with layers of sand, the bed is ready to be planted. Then the gardens can do their own thing for about a month before it is time to harvest the onions and potatoes, then replant. Rain today.

The EVs in the US are overpriced, over done with whistles and bells and out of reach financially of the average working human. We need much, much better. We need to dump rare elements and that huge social cost. Nothing with EVs is good enough, the sodium cars are a much better road to go down.

My point is who cares? Keep the damn price down, be good to the planet, look at the social aspects of the choice. I am looking at the big pictures, not worrying about a mere 10%.

I don't need all the stupid whistles and bells on a car. New and improved usually means ruined and wrecked. We are talking about cars for the masses, who just want dependable transportation that won't bankrupt them. My Bolt fits that class perfectly. So does the new Sodium car.

The battery conditioning system, the heater so it functions in the winter, the armor etc all cost big bucks too. And ruins your range when it is cold out. Heck, I live in Texas but I really notice the difference on the few occasions it gets cold. My Bolt is smaller than this sodium powered car.

Okay, now remove the cost of the excess armor that a lithium battery needs and the other crap due to fire hazard and the expense of using a lithium battery in real winter, and the difference is closer to 40%. But the gain for the planet is 100% and that must be factored in.

There are still parts of Texas that don't have HEB, they keep asking for one to be built. I don't blame them, great store.

Range and the number of cycles is what matters to car buyers. The car is bigger than my Bolt, gets the same range and is much cheaper. Again, no down side. No children in war torn areas mining. No damage to the environment and no risk of fire. Are you invested in the current technology?

And the American education system didn't bother to teach them to think, so they will continue their blind obedience. The only thing they learn in school.
