Tariffs on Canadian goods will start tomorrow. It’s difficult to know how Canadians will be affected exactly, however we can expect prices of food and other goods to continue to rise.

Yes, so from what I understand it’s 1 in 10 Toronto residents access food banks and I have seen other sources say 1 in 4 Toronto residents experience food insecurity overall. Here is an article

‼️ City of Toronto 🇨🇦 declares a food insecurity emergency

Food insecurity on the rise.
“Canada’s recent Food Price Report 2025 forecasts a rise in food prices between three and five percent, pushing the average family of four’s annual food expenditure to $16,833.67. That’s an increase of $800 from last year. “

What is your favourite Canadian made products?
Neat! I’m seeing between 35-55% of crops used to feed livestock (Canadian, Europe) and in the US it’s 70-80%
Yes I’m seeing this thank you, but I’m fairly sure it’s way more then 6% 🙈 I’ll see what I can find.
From my understanding, at least here in Canada, a good chunk of land and food that is grown here, is used to make feed for livestock.
Hard times ahead!
If you are able, start buying from your local farmers markets, growing a gardening, learn to preserve foods, and commit to purchasing more Canadian made goods at your local grocery store.
