It's officially Christmas at @manmetuni.bsky.social Institute of Sport! π
Confused writing is usually a symptom of confused thinking. As we struggle to clarify writing, we clarify our thoughts. AI writing aids rob us of that struggle, leaving clean-looking text and thoughts still confused for lack of inspection. Writing is not just a product; it is a diagnostic tool.

We have an open rank, tenure-line faculty position in biomechanics in the School of Kinesiology at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor. At U-M we have great colleagues, exceptional resources, and biomechanics can be found all across the campus. #BiomechSky
This type of question is the kind of thing I'm super-interested in!
Managed to get my poster to Stockholm without leaving it in an airport, which for me is quite an achievement. Come and talk to me about walking over obstacles at oblique angles (or just about the excellence of Swedish cinnamon buns) this afternoon at board 3.096

Awesome first keynote of #ISB2025 - @stevecollins.bsky.social on embracing human complexity in experimental design to maximise the impact of our science
As promised - our new post-doc position is now available!! Join our productive inter-institutional team at UNC-Chapel Hill in an ongoing NIH-funded project collaborating with friends at Utah (reporter.nih.gov/search/nC8k4...)

My lab is seeking postdoctoral researchers to work on research in robotic prosthetics. We welcome applicants with expertise in any of the following areas: biomechanics, wearable robotics, motor control/learning, human factors, or physical human-robot interactions. nrel.bme.unc.edu/2025/07/new-...
Great time speaking at MMUβs Institute of Sport this week, sharing some insights into athletic performance and rehabilitation in non-human animals. Had such a fantastic time meeting their lovely team and seeing their awesome facilities. Thanks @kajdaniels.bsky.social for the invite βΊοΈ
Something a bit different for today's MMU Institute of Sport research seminar - thanks very much to @drselfy.bsky.social from Harper-Keele Vet School and Harry Gill from MMU Natural Sciences for sharing their very cool work on athletic performance and movement assessment in horses and dogs π€©ππ
I've attempted similar before but always at the end of the lecture - where it doesn't work because everyone's itching to head off. Now you've said it, it seems so obvious that it'd be better placed more in the middle of the session - will definitely try this next semester. Thank you!
This is a really interesting idea. What guidance did you give on question scope - from the feedback comments it looks like they could ask for clarification of the session content or any other query about the general subject/topic?
May follow ChatGPT's example and add this to the end of all my communications too
What makes exploratory research valuable? We discuss 6 factors: 1) Large and 2) Uncommon sample 3) Rigorous data collection 4) Widely used measures that 5) Reveal a coherent pattern across variables meaningful to others and 6) The potential to generate questions.

Back in the midst of the 'relying on automatic timezone conversions and hoping for the best' time of year for scheduling international calls - because it would be far too easy if everyone's clocks changed on the same date π

It took me a few reads to get that oneβ¦ Itβs already been a long week! π
I will tell them this next week π
Can you come along to my lecture next year then so there can be two of us?! π
Once again I am the only person in the lecture theatre who finds this slide funny
Hmm, this isn't the case for me (all the top posts on my feed are from the last few hours max) so not sure what's going on there, but maybe just depends on who you follow and how often they post while it's still building up? π
What a Friday indeed! Happy Friday Felipe π
Submitted with HOURS to spare π... Maybe I'm turning over a new leaf?! π
Congratulations!
πto all #biomechanics people in @bsky.app !
The BASES (bases.org.uk) Biomechanics & Motor Behaviour Division main aim is to foster a network of biomechanists.
We are excited to join & looking forward to connecting with anyone interested in biomechanics - pls reach out!
