I remember the Pan Am ops folks letting airport staff know that Grimm was on his way to BGI. We were all outside on the ramp watching this man finesse what was a “big” aircraft for the time. Great days!

That was one great airline. I remember working in BGI for BW early 70s. PA229 from JFK was a landing to watch when one Capt. Grimm was in command. He would plant the B707-320B on the runway and hold the nose off until a near full stop then taxi off at the first intersection. A sight to behold.
