The Onion plans to turn Infowars into a comedy site with satirical echoes of the fringe conspiracy theories that Mr. Jones is known for. Tim Heidecker, one of the comedians behind “Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!” on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim, has been hired to serve as “creative director of Infowars.” He said he initially plans to parody Mr. Jones’s “whole modus operandi.”

Mr. Heidecker has been working on his impression of Mr. Jones. But eventually, when that joke gets old, Mr. Heidecker said that he hoped to turn Infowars into a destination for independent and experimental comedy.

“I just thought it would be just a beautiful joke if we could take this pretty toxic, negative, destructive force of Infowars and rebrand it as this beautiful place for our creativity,” Mr. Heidecker said in an interview. During a recent trip to Philadelphia, he traveled to the Liberty Bell to film a video in character as the new creative director of Infowars.

I'm a bit of a homebody & it really drove home how much I loved little stuff like going to the comic shop, hangs with friends/family and just being able to go eat at a diner at 2am. I already work from home so it just kinda made everything that, no novelty, just restriction (& no more 24 hr stuff 😭)

Remember this from last week?

South Carolina's Freedom to Read Group has an outstanding response worth replicating.

Libraries don't have to buy these books. They can actively push back against publishers who are not helping libraries–bedrocks of their survival!–weather censorship.

This is some Fox News-ass bs from Beshear, cherry picking what I can immediately tell is specialized phrasing that isn't intended to communicate w/laypeople, then acting like there's a push to talk to normies like this to frame the issue as out-of-touch elites vs. Real Americans (tm) *like him.*

“GlobalComix’s AI translation copilot delivers 85–90% cost savings compared to industry-standard manual translation.”

These AI tools will always rely on underpaid freelancers doing three jobs for a fraction of the wage of one. They’re merely a justification for not paying people.

the thing that's kind of hard to say out loud is that kids should be allowed to disobey their parents

obviously not at every age or in every way

but it's not normal for kids to live in a panopticon, it's not normal for "never say anything to anyone that I wouldn't like" to be an enforceable rule

every superhero movie should run with a PSA about how all the cool shit they’re about to see is based on the work of freelancers unsupported by the companies that have exploited their work for decades

really funny to me that the democrats always have 1-3 guys on hand to make sure the democrats can put up the performance of resistance while still ultimately getting the government to pass what the combined democratic-republican party ultimately wants

It’s fucking bizarre how people are acting like something from 2022 is something they can’t live without.

Like dudes, the emotional dependence on a sycophantic machine regurgitating nonsense to encourage you to stop engaging in critical thought and trust the slop is truly depressing to witness.

Hi, I'm one of the artists who left twitter because it steals our work with no opt-out. I'm also a book author plaintiff in a case against an ai company. Nobody likes ai except tech ppl in tech central. The majority of Americans do not like ai. The majority of Bluesky users do not like ai.

the fact that legislators are trying to say that computers are devices that require id verification and tracking to use should put fear into EVERYONE. FIGHT AGAINST THIS.

'That wasn't me': How facial recognition led to a woman being jailed for 6 months Kimberlee Williams, who lived in Oklahoma, was jailed after being accused of crimes in Maryland, a state she'd told investigators she never visited.

Kimberlee Williams had never been to Maryland when she was arrested for a crime that she didn’t commit, because police relied on an incorrect result from facial recognition technology and concealed it from the court when applying for arrest warrants.

We can't let this happen to anyone else.

My god, this is an awful abuse by Target; I hope she's doing okay now. I'm glad you left up what you'd learned, though, I'd heard rumors, but now I don't know if self checkout is even worth it for a candy bar.
