I generally like the Conversation. I think it and others like it are an important piece of making scholarship accessible. However, they should not reproduce the same problems that exist in the university more broadly. Universities are already exploitative enough. Pay your people.

I hope New Yorkers will challenge Mamdani about this. Too often, people feel they need to be absolutely for or against a politician — ignoring their missteps or throwing them out with the bathwater. You can like and/or believe in someone and still challenge them to deliver on their promises.
If a Democrat did this, Sean Hannity would do 24-hour live coverage. Ingraham would interrupt the Super Bowl. Brian Kilmeade would set fire to the studio.
