I absolutely agree!
Unpopular Bowie opinion time!
Do you have an off the wall opinion about Bowie?
Maybe you think Lodger is the best "Berlin" album.
Or Pin Ups is better than Aladdin Sane
Or Time Will Crawl is in your top ten?
Or....?
BBC to fill Glastonbury void with huge David Bowie event broadcast around the world - Mirror Online share.google/I6h1qATpiZ7s...
The BBC is planning a major Bowie celebration concert in 2026 to fill the gap left by Glastonburyโs fallow year.
It is expected to take place at Londonโs O2 Arena, feature a range of artists performing Bowieโs music, and be broadcast around the world.
Which artists would you like to see take part?
Which Bowie song improves the most when played live?
- Ziggy Stardust
- Station to Station
- "Heroes"
Or something else entirely?
In June, a very special 50th anniversary celebration of Low & The Idiot takes place at Chรขteau dโHรฉrouville, in the studio in which they were recorded, with Carlos Alomar in attendance.
A rare chance to experience music history where it happened.

A beautiful start to an amazing song.
I do love that song.
Or "Over the wall we go, all coppers are nanas". Classics, both!
What is the best opening line to a Bowie song?
- "She's a tongue twisting storm"?
- "Still don't know what I was waiting for"?
- "It's a god-awful small affair"?
- "I'm home. Lost my job. And incurably ill"?
Or something else?
Happy birthday to the one and only Carmine Rojas! ๐ธ
Beyond the glorious music, Andy and I have so much to thank him for: a brilliant four-page interview for issue 4 and joining us at our New York convention in 2023.
Have a great one, Carmine! ๐
So, who is in your ultimate Bowie band?
We can have two guitarists (one rhythm, one lead) a bass player, a drummer, a keyboard player or pianist and a saxophonist.
I know who I'm choosing.
This just in from the Bowie Centre: No ticket needed!

We are happy to announce that from Tuesday 3 February you can visit the David Bowie Centre without the need to book a timed ticket.
Whats the perfect compilation of tracks from the "Berlin" trilogy?
All vocal? A mix?
Shall we say 11 tracks?
Wishing a happy birthday to Kevin Armstrong!

Great news for our friend and playwright Mark Wheeller: CAN YOU HEAR ME MAJOR TOM? has been taken on by a small publisher as a downloadable script. Wishing it every success. Very well deserved. ๐๐ญ
Ten years since David Bowie died today.
Still feels strange to say it.
His work hasnโt faded into nostalgia . It keeps unfolding, revealing new meanings with time.
Bowie remains present: in the music, the ideas, and the permission he gave so many to be themselves.
As well as being David Bowieโs birthday, today marks 10 years since Blackstar.
For me, itโs his magnum opus; impossible to compare with his other works. Often a hard listen, yet forward-looking: unresolved, abrasive, deeply beautiful. Bowie was pushing boundaries right to the end.
Paul Magrs' play on Radio 4, The Goblin King and Me, is truly wonderful. Do take 45 minutes to have a listen.

Happy birthday, David Bowie.
Tomorrow on BBC Radio 4:
The Goblin King and Me by Paul Magrs; a drama inspired by a real-life encounter with David Bowie. A young boy meets Bowie at a pivotal moment and receives advice that quietly changes his life.
๐ป Drama on 4 | Thurs 8 Jan, 14.15.
Interestingly, Moonage Daydream is on C4 now, for those who want to compare.
I agree that putting this narrative into 90 minutes was a big ask.
