Love bomb them over the next few weeks, as they donāt close until June 6.
The problem is this post-Moses trend in treating the "community" as if it's monolithic and knows more about transportation planning than the experts. We as a society can say "more transit good, road expansion bad" and ask locals to weigh in on where staircases go, not "should this even happen?"
Anyone know whether today is a āceasefireā day or a ādestroy your civilisationā day yet?

Hey everyone, itās #bicycleday
There's a lot of talk about leaving Substack & whether it will be the death-knell of your newsletter. I have been on Beehiiv for 7 months now & @tlpavlich.gay helped me run some numbers. So, was leaving Substack worth it? The answer, for me, has been a resounding "yes."
Here are the hard numbers:
in a world of lauren bezoses, be a connie ballmer
We are not asking Sound Transit to do something impossible. We are asking them to do what they said they would do.
Build the connection.
Build the future.
Build the damn trains.
Excited to attend the ribbon-cutting for the next segment of Californiaās solar canal initiative later this month in Hickman. Imagine generating solar power over 4,000 miles or so canals across the state. A lot of Sierra and Colorado River water to save via avoided evaporation.
Plainly telling his own staff āI will ignore the Constitution to enact revenge on my imagined enemiesā sure seems to me like a valid basis for impeachment proceedings for a life-term judge in the highest court.
I mean, of course thatās what happening. Itās been clear the whole time
A grid photo of 16 different characters all played by the legend Tim Curry.
Tim Curry, the absolute legend, turns 80 today. This man took huge swings.
Oooh, talk dirty to meā¦
Trumpās ācomplicated relationship with the Bibleā is a lot like my complicated relationship with Charlize Theron
Vintage Sixfinger toy (āThe most amazing toy ever!ā), which is a toy gun that looks like an index finger, that had swappable functions - including a cap bomb, a ballpoint pen, SOS, shooting a secret bullet, shooting a secret message, and shooting a fragmentation bomb
I donāt want to point any fingers, but we used to be a country of genuine innovation.

Happy 80th birthday to Tim Curry who has always, *always* understood the assignment.

Two hooded figures with lamps approach a moonlit, isolated cottage. A woman answers the door. We have come for the child, says the hooded figure So soon? she asks It is time, says the hooded figure. The woman is distraught. We should never have got him a library card! What is done cannot be undone, says the hooded figure We couldnāt see the harm! We just wanted him to enjoy reading! For most, it ends there, says the hooded figure, turning away and walking into the wilderness Oh lord, What have I done! says the woman, the child walks past her and out into the darkness with them. Do not cry mother. I am a writer now.

Iām wondering if you didnāt want to deal with fishing out the raisins, you could just add a dash of Pedro Ximenez or cream sherry? Sherry is fantastic with tomatoes and PX is like liquid raisins.
Cover of Mother Jones with an image of fingers pointing at John Roberts and the coverline "Blame John Roberts for Everything"
The NYT big expose on SCOTUS today pairs well with @ariberman.bsky.social and @pemalevy.bsky.social's cover story on how ~everything wrong with this country today can be laid at the feet of John Roberts: www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
I do loves me a pretty bottle.
Cute, but I'm calling fake. Those raccoons would absolutely kill and eat the cat. Reason #27 to keep your cat INDOORS.
We should be learning from other countries...
It's cute, but style over practicality. There's a reason hatchbacks were (and still are in many countries) super popular. That sloped back end just throws away a ton of cargo space.
Also the people who only quote repost with a minimal comment like "this!". If you're not adding to the conversation, you're just trying to steal other people's likes.
Overshooting 1.5°C looks likelyābut itās not game over. The key is limiting how far (and how long) we exceed it, then bringing temperatures back down with rapid cuts + carbon removal. Every fraction of a degree still matters.

It shocks me how many businesses still donāt seem to get that Trumpās cultural revolution did not actually happen
Almost all of these looks are pulling focus away from the jewelry. Some are actively making the pieces look cheap and tacky. Were there no stylists involved at all?
