I have played this game a number of times and can guarantee tense and emotive 'good' times as you try to save the troops but realise at least one probably isn't going home despite your best efforts.

I've been stuck in dev for months now on Starfreighter, a solo space sim TTRPG in the mold of Freelancer/Wing Commander: Privateer.

It's time to just kick the (rough) document and (also very rough) playtest into the wider world, and let you all do as you will.

Fun fact: When I released Trouble at Santa's Workshop, I initially did it to raise funds for a local charity, and we ended up raising about $572.

AND, I even got featured in the local paper! 😄

Then, friends in the TTRPG community helped me translate the game in Spanish and Italian.

Also makes me think I need to encourage each patient to make the toilet as nice a place as they can.

Somewhere that although they have to go to, it doesn't become a depressing reminder of their CA too - photos of loved ones, pictures of gaming glory, that book you've always wanted to read etc.

I'm struck by the timing of this.

My work brings me into contact with patients with CA and there seems to be a fair few atm.

Your words have a real truth to them, echo what I've heard/seen and makes me ponder how to bring it to those who need to hear it themselves.

Why are you not a fan of BitD?

You're right that each has the flavour of the setting but share the similar ideas.

I don't know about Gods&Morals or Rogue Stars but I've DaS and the core mechanics are the same but focused on the black powder setting.

Another with good times indeed.

The 10yo is now running the game while I type to you lot.

It also has so many meaningful choices that it's extremely satisfying for even Veteran gamers.

#SongofBladesandHeroes #SoBaH is, IMO, the very best gateway miniatures game for children, normal people and gaming curious folk.

It's mechanics are so simple you can teach the basics to a tired 5yo, a hyper 8yo and a mardy 10yo, and they've picked it up within the first few turns.

My 7yo ADHD monster is willing so trying to figure out how to make able.

I think white undercoat then Army Painter's speed paints will be the way forward regardless of what he wants to paint.

I'm finding speed paints work well for that.

My brain finds their "fuck it just put it in and get anything done!" helpful.
