We found that cases labeled “suspicious circumstances” contained 1.5x more statements indicating victim credibility concerns. When submitted for forensic testing, however, these cases were just as likely to hit in CODIS. Officers’ biases about “real rape” cases have no forensic bearing.

My bluesky debut coincided with our newest publication🤗 perhaps unsurprisingly, primary care providers were least comfortable working with patients with sexual assault, childhood trauma, and intimate partner violence histories (vs other types of trauma)
