I knew that every student I tutored and worked with was INCREDIBLY intelligent and had vast amounts of talent and I wanted to see them use that more every day I worked with them. That's really what I think this boils down to. AI does not empower the students I work with to be critical thinkers.

- academic journey if they eschewed the use of AI in their work and put more critical thought into their writing, research, and even into little things like asking peers for help, looking at offline assistance and seeking alternatives to digital aid.

However, what students used instead was AI to simply grade their paper before turn-in. This is a reminder, AI isn't grading your paper, a human is. You need to use critical thought and engagement to write and edit and AI is not a stand-in for that. Students would get so much more out of their -

There's nothing wrong with getting your classmates to look over your work and do some grammar edits for you and you doing the same - it's a great way for you all to learn editing and to see how others have answered things differently and have ongoing discussions with the content.

Lastly, there are many services at the University that ARE there to help with things like editing in the event you need additional assistance for an accessibility reason which I sign posted students to FREQUENTLY. I also encouraged students to take advantage of peer-to-peer learning.

I'll always sit down and do that - no questions asked!! What I can't do is write that paper for you and do all the work to make it a cohesive and final draft that you turn in for a grade. You've got to do that yourself (and without the use of AI).

I am ALWAYS happy to discuss with my students ideas they have regarding specific questions around content, maybe help them tease out an idea they have or go deep into a discussion around something they're writing on that they want to explore with someone knowledgeable in the area.

As a tutor I'm not allowed to do that. I can't pre-grade your essay before you submit for a final grade. Ethically that's not allowed. Second, at this level you should be able to do your own editing and submit knowing whether or not you've done an appropriate level of work on the final w/o me.

What I mean by that is, they would have their final essays due for class and wanted me to do a full edit of that final before turn in to make sure they had answered things correctly and had correct grammar and structure of the answer before they submitted. A couple of things here...

I will say that as a tutor I made myself available MANY times and outside of regular office hours and more for students to come to me to discuss their work, questions they had with the content of the lectures you name it! However, what most students requested was for me to review their finals.

Huge surge in AI misconduct cases recorded at Edinburgh University AI use now makes up for a third of academic misconduct cases at the university

Can confirm. It's brutally obvious when students are using AI in their work but as a tutor we can do precious little about it other than flag to the professor we're grading for that we *think* AI has been used and hope they do something 🧵 thetab.com/2026/03/30/h...

And @mit.edu can’t say that they don’t know. They took hundreds of thousands from Epstein YEARS after he was charged in court for soliciting sex from a minor. He was a known predator. They STILL also laud Minsky’s work despite him being one of Virginia Giuffre’s rapists.

Eagerly waiting for @mit.edu to start cleaning house. I want to see people FIRED with NO severance pay. Computers and research seized. I want their names to be synonymous with pedophile. I’m EXHAUSTED with so many mediocre men still being lauded as geniuses when they are PERVERTS.

Scene from "O Brother, Where Art Thou?"

Look, I'm sure that Nolan's adaptation of "The Odyssey" will be fun, but I highly doubt it will be as good as the original.

It would’ve been great to see that kind of representation on television as a queer person who uses a service dog!! but I guess they are only disabled when they need to fly their pet. 🤔🤔🤔🤔

I guess @bobbyberk.bsky.social gave all his #QueerEye costars tips on illegally transporting dogs because will you look at that! That’s #AntoniP with his pet dog in a #servicedog vest to travel! Which is strange! I don’t remember either of them requiring use of a service dog in their work!

Your dog is likely much more happy AND SAFE at home, staying with an insured pet sitter, being boarded with a reputable company, or staying with trusted family than going with you.

Do not fake a service dog or ESA to take your dog in cabin. If they do not meet these criteria then you should look into other ways of transporting them: dog friendly flights, in cargo, or going to your destination by boat or car. Alternatively understand that many dogs do NOT want to travel.

Having an animal out of its carrier is illegal and can get your flight crew in trouble - even if your flight attendant states oh I don’t mind - do the right thing. Keep your animal in the carrier. If you MUST take your animal out of ANY reason put a leash on them and physically attach them to you.

3 months ago 0 0 1 0

The quickest way to do that is to place the soft carrier in your lap and slide down. If your animal is loose it could become panicked - it could bite, it could frighten or attack other customers (you don’t know! An emergency evacuation situation is VERY terrifying!).

the animal is (usually) under 20lbs, and they are in a carrier. The carrier rule isn’t because airlines hate your animal it’s for the safety of you and your pet in the event of an emergency. Should there be an emergency landing your pet needs to be grabbed and placed in your lap to evacuate,

Flying with your dog in cabin to international destinations as a pet is limited by things like airline, pet weight, and the policies of the destination regarding things like quarantine. You can take your smaller dogs in cabin to some destinations provided you have the proper paperwork,

I hope @americanair.bsky.social looks into this and that Bobby does better in the future and addresses this appropriately. Because you CAN take your pets in cabin as long as you follow proper guidelines and rules!

When I called out this post on Instagram and asked him for clarification he blocked me. This shows that Bobby has no interest in being held accountable for his actions and for doing the right thing. Well, great news I can bring that same attention elsewhere.
