Yes I think this is right; I counted a while back and I want to say he has the most paired endings other than Byleth, and I think Sylvain has the least or among the least (of the non-DLC students). It makes sense to me that some supports would only go up to B. Some should have only gone up to C imo

In her endcards it often references him helping her prepare for whatever role she takes on. I don't get the impression he's a *great* dad, but he always came off like he at least cared for her safety and wellbeing even if he wasn't exactly emotionally available.

Tbh I never got ominous from Edmund in Houses. Marianne tells Leonie he doesn't want her wandering around and she hides her crest, both presumably for safety reasons (which, given her paralogue and the fact her parents disappeared...).
