Years ago, Enterprise would let you rent a car in your neighborhood for, say, 3 hours. Then they stopped it here in Chicago and said, "Oh, our cars kept getting vandalized — Chicago be crimin'!" Months later, it turned out they weren't getting vandalized — they just stopped the business.

I mean, that's a solid bit.
Remember when they spent $200 million on infuriating digital "windows" on their refrigerated sections — then got rid of them? Didn't the guy who pushed for that then leave for... a job with a digital windows company?
All good points — I'm in Chicago, so I'm not aware of the leanings of that area. I just know he says all the right things and seems to realize how bad Trump is, so from a distance he seems fine.
I mean, the enemy of my enemy is my friend, right? He says all the right things, and has been doing so for years. I’m a little wary but seems ok to me so far…
Without looking it up, I feel like I remember Milner basically making a career of breaking up no-hitters — including a… would-be perfect game?… by Chuck Rainey. I think at least some of that is correct, yes?
Should probably walk this one back, my guy.
Loud motorcycles and cars — whether it’s bc of tricked-out mufflers, subwoofers the size of a washing machine, or whatever — are the epitome of obnoxious and should get tickets.
I remember being told that bridge was, at one point, officially listed as one of the architectural wonders of the world. I tried and tried to verify it, but never could.
I remember the first time I heard — driving back up to college on WAPL, "The Rockin' Apple" (they rocked Appleton, Wis., in a big way). I immediately pulled into a Kwik-E-Mart, called the station, and said "What the hell was that?" The DJ said, "I know!" Next song: by Night Ranger.
Good call!
What are the four? Band, song, album....
Not identical, but similar: Freshman year of college my roommate put Reckoning on the turntable. Ten seconds in to Harborcoat and I said, "I don't know what that is, but I am 100% in." (Another band I felt that with: The Sea & Cake with Jacking the Ball.) www.youtube.com/watch?v=puWQ...
Crash (both of them — Cronenberg has done good and bad but that shit is abso unwatchable)
It was brilliant. I’ve always wondered what Laura Bush said to him — it certainly didn’t seem to be “nice job.”
Meatloaf is awful (the food, not the late singer).
Got any good articles that summarize this? Would love to read more about it. (I mean, I could google it myself, but where's the fun in that?)
I was listening to that on a bike ride — after the 17th (or so) time he mentioned it, I was like, “my guy, we get it!”
Sigh. That's what I figured.
?
I thought this, too, but went to a driving range a few times and couldn't hit the ball straight to save my life. It went off the tee at angles that were literally physically impossible. Einstein would've wept.
The Witch
Yes
That's my guy @cruzich.bsky.social who wrote it — it's great stuff!
I’ve interviewed/written about him several times. Dude is really a remarkable person. Check out this video, for instance. www.instagram.com/reel/DWh5Rro...
I shelled out big bucks for the super-cool program that featured many his shots that U2 sold on The Joshua Tree tour. I used to page through it for hours. www.ebay.com/itm/38980764...
Mark, I think you and @owillis.bsky.social should start a political consulting firm and I’m not really joking.
Honestly, wasn't sure if the billionaire gag was played out or not but I went with it. (Was debating something about being the 147th-highest scorer in New Holstein hoops history, but...)
