This is what happens when you can’t evaluate D Line talent…No choice but to find cap space for Hendrickson

is there any chance Billy is trying to coach his way into a termination so he keeps his extension $ but doesn’t have to coach a rebuild? Cc @juliapoe.bsky.social

Reinsdorf will sell all of these for cash. They might as well be for 2040. Bulls aren’t using these for players.

But Jane, name a great NBA team that wasn’t overloaded with 6’3” defensive liabilities.

At least he drafts well

Steph: is there any precedent or roster management approach pursued by other teams similar to AK’s philosophy: preferring former lottery guys that haven’t panned out and 2nd round picks instead of trading for 1st round picks? It seems doomed to me but hoping there are successful examples elsewhere…

And no masks. It’s got to be a bigger part of the messaging.

No, he cannot.

The beat reporters were the first ones on his emptiness as a teammate. Guessing they were hearing/seeing it first hand. Also very obvious when you watch him every day. He’s a great hitter. But none of his teammates were clamoring for him to stay.

Watch him day to day and he feels like an empty suit. He has zero leadership presence. Not a glue guy. No rapport with younger players. He’s not a multiplier. He’ll be perfect in LA for those reasons but on other clubs he wouldn’t be the star you want to pay huge money and build a team around

As a cubs fan, when they got him I was elated. But by the end of the season I was fine w him leaving. Not just bc he is developing an injury history or gets into DEEP slumps.

Clearly ahead of chat and Gemini in that regard, you think?

Emergency Bregman/(Bears) pod incoming?

You’re so right. Are you surprised it was for Bregman they changed their approach? Why are they so enamored with him over n so many other FAs?

It’s the blend of economic analysis and dad jokes that really set you apart.

Any word on Wright’s availability?

The next president should turn it into a center for naturalization ceremonies. Nothing but first-gen immigrants dancing their asses off after becoming citizens.

NBA champion Jud Buechler! Almost certainly took a punch from Jordan during those years of Bulls practices.

The NYC mayor stuff is hilarious. Should have asked him about JFK. Incredible how ahistorical boomers are as a generation.

So then Shota is probably not seeing any innings tonight, right?

If he doesn’t challenge an obvious non-fumble and has Santos kick it out of bounds rather than failing to kick it out of the end zone, they might have won game 1 tho, no?

The Nats will be great in 2032

Definitely. But also sometimes dudes just hit everything thrown to them. And then they just stop. So weird. Confidence is a part of it. Shooting in basketball has some of that to it, too.

Baseball has the added wrinkle of slumping vs in a groove. Hitting specifically. It’s wild how hot a hitter can get for a couple weeks then fall back to earth. Those peaks and valleys aren’t as common in other sports.

Thanks for looking into that!

Would you know on how many of those 3-0 counts he walked on 4 pitches?
