I wish the show would make more use of Honey's different forms. She has a bullfighter one in this episode and it only shows up for a few seconds. This might be the best use of Junpei and Gramps so far.

#TwinPanther’s episode was a Wacky Races style story with #CutieHoney and Histler competing for the grand prize. It had nice backgrounds.

The arc started in The Astonishing Ant-Man July 4th, just after he fights the Scarlett Beetle again.

IO think the issues that made me like Antman the most were the ones where he got stuck small after being injected with super rabies. I wish that section lasted longer because it really showcased how innovative he could be with so few resources.

The 48 July issue of Iron Man (I had to check my epic collection and it turns out I was remembering wrong. He just got pulled over and his fiance just thought they were going to go over a ridge).
The Giant Man stuff I was reading was from the second epic collection so it spanned a bunch of eras.

I like the odd-couple thing Hank and Janet have going for them. It can be a bit awkward because of the occasional of-the-time-isms but I like the intended "fun and goofy" vibe the old comics had.
I don't think the break-up is the actual origin, but it's the first time I remember someone commenting

Nothing right now. I'm taking a break this month for my brain. (so I might not have anything to upload next month)

Instead I've been brushing up on Antman/Giantman and Iron Man. I'm at the point where Tony just broke it off with his psychic fiancé and I'm starting to see how he became an alcoholic.

Tusky is comedy relief (so I guess more on the chaos side). He hangs out with Aquaman to avoid his wife, and while he can take out an opponent with his sheer weight he doesn't typically pull it off on purpose.
He's from the 1967 Aquaman animated series.

(sorry for the late reply.)

I made a few changes to the design to bring it more in line with the mythological Aphrodite.

She uses a Holy Ring as a girdle and each of her wings is made to look like those of a bird associated with Aphrodite. I used the same colors from her eyes for her 3 shells. I wanted to make the main body more odd so I recoloured it to be more skin-like. The giant Holy Ring above her constantly shines a spotlight of sparkling radiance on her.

Her card stats are mostly based off some Lilithmon cards I looked up. I picked blue and white as the colors since she's the kind of character that binds her enemies will and immobilizes them. Since she would Digivolve from many different mons I figured the white color would help with that.

This card is a reference to when Aphrodite cheats on Hephaestus with Ares, but through a more anime/Digimon lense. Instead of seducing Aresmon when it was on a rampage the power of it's "moe" sleeping face soothes Aresmon's rage. This is how Aphroditemon sealed it into its Sleep Mode.

While Aphroditemon can act spoiled it actually does like Aresmon and loves sleeping on its coils. The sound of its engines lulling her to sleep. Hephaestusmon hates this and is on a mission to create a weapon more powerful than Aresmon.

I have realized I forgot to put the jagged white energy blasting from Naiad's eyes like with Corona. If there were any more elementals like them I would want to use that as a visual signature, so that was a big miss. 😰

Nuliajuk is an Inuit Goddess who lives in the ocean and grew to hate Aquaman after he’d saved his teen girlfriend Kako from her. She leads an army of monsters (which really should come up more) and can create even more.

A great character for world-building and an example of Aquaman’s complex relationship with the various pantheons of the DC Universe. Unlike Triton, who is held back by Poseidon, she is a more uncontrollable presence who could easily threaten our hero at any time. Her grudge predates the Aquaman identity and could easily be linked to all kinds of aspects of his world (for once I’m not talking about the Abyssal Dark).

A criminal Water-Sprite, self-exiled from the 5th Dimension. Quisp may have made some mistakes in his past but Quirk is outright evil. From what I can tell, his powers seem to have been diminished by his exile since he resorts to working with a pirate in his appearance.

5th Dimensional Imps are always fun and a straight up criminal one is an interesting idea. Imagine a story with Myxy, Batmite, and Quisp all tracking him down through a multi-dimensional chase. I used the same traits as I did on Quisp but pushed them to appear more demonic. I wanted him to be reminiscent of the folkloric version of the Devil.
I’ve changed how I draw the Sea Imps. While I’m keeping the big, heads, hands, and feet I’ve used a more saturated outline colour and more exaggerated fairytale features for Quirk. I want to emphasize their emotional state in their design.

While other 5th Dimensional Imps are tricksters and fanboys, this one is a criminal by the standards of his own people. I wanted to lay into that idea and made him more demonic, with sharper angles and a ton of red. I imagine him as the kind of Imp to inspire stories of demonic familiars and evil spirits, while Qwisp (whose good form I haven’t drawn yet) is his opposite.

Possibly a robot Ocean Master built, nobody known much about Seaquake. He/It commands an army of robots and is done in when Aquaman bashes through Seaquake’s head with a wrecking ball.

Robot or not, Seaquake should return as either a self-made villain or a supporter of Ocean Master. Either is fine, but I would prefer a mind behind the machine. I imagine there is a mastermind using these robotic bodies to menace the seas from a safe distance. Though I’d settle for a mad robot gone rogue.

Tusky is from the Aquaman 1967 cartoon who likes Sea Imp and tends to headbutt villains. He’s a goofy guy who joined Aquaman to get away from his wife.

I feel that Tusky adds to the “marine life are people too” aspect of Aquaman that I find is often underused. He’s comedy relief character (something we haven’t seen much of so far in this project) and while the guy-who-hates-his-wife trope is played out you can still squeeze some fun and feelings out of it if written well. Being such a big, dumb guy who fumbles into saving the day can help cut down on the overly dower things Aquaman has to deal with.

Didn’t have any reference images for Merder and the little I knew about him is that he can control animals, is similar to Mordru, and is from the Microverse. So I went all in on the head-cannon stuff.

I was going for a twisted Merlin theme and incorporated some design elements from a Micronaught character. I added crazy looking rings into his yellow eyes since I imagine him as an unhinged old man who talks to animals and uses advanced tech to feud with Mordru over dominance (losing bad). He stands out among Aquamans rogues since I haven’t run into any other Microverse characters so far. I made him short in the height chart but he’d be taller when in the Microverse.

In cannon Porpy is just a random porpoise Aquaman uses as a steed.

I feel his role could be expanded if he was added to Porm’s pod. Since porpoises are not prone to swimming with dolphins (acc to a BBC article I read about “Dolphin and porpoise pairing seen in Newquay and St Ives”) I think Porm taking in a smaller animal like him would play into her special nature and protective personality that caused her to take in Aquaman. I imagine him as a close “brother” to AM as they would both be outsiders to the pod.

Sardine is a fan/sidekick of the Human Flying Fish from the Super Friends comics, based on the cartoon. He and some friends team up with their villain of choice but turn on their mentors by the end of the story.

The idea of an in-universe character who admires someone like the Human Flying Fish is a fun way to expand on his character. I would love it if he was introduced into the mainline comics proper and kept around longer than in the original story. While my take on THFF is an arrogant jobber hired to distract Aquaman I feel that Sardine should be a bigger thinker. He’s got the mind for the villain business and the determination to back it up. Resourceful if not slightly unhinged, he would easily soar above his mentors ability if not for his blind admiration.

Mongo rules the Black City of Necrus, another Atlantean offshoot which appears only when an alien satellite enters orbit and a device onboard opens a rift due to Earth’s magnetic field. Similar to Xebel, they are a militaristic people (whom I think could be even more so and represent how Atlanteans were before Aquaman’s time, like how Atlanna remembers them). He hates surface dwellers so much he will kill any he finds bellow the waves.
I draw anyone in or from Necrus with darker, reddish shadows and without shine. Any black becomes solid with a coloured outline. They wear flipper-like shoes but dress as Atlanteans used to since they have limited resources in their other dimension. They have reddish skin in the comics and I enhanced it to be similar to other offshoots like the Tuatha De Danann.

After the Great Deluge the Atlanteans were trapped inside the dome over Poseidonis. The king Orin’s brother Shalako felt technocracy was to blame and his followers made the first cultural split, leaving through the tunnels beneath city. Orin created a way to turn them into water breathers and offered it to the now “Tritonians”. Shalako, having tapped into dark forces (guess who I think this should be) and feeling betrayed when his people accept cursed his people into monsters which eventually develop into merpeople. This eventually leads to Kordax (who resembles what the cursed Tritonians).

The king of the open ocean living Tritonians, who look down on the Atlanteans for living in a dome. Another king to negatively compare Aquaman too, he appears well loved by his people. He never gets close to Aquaman, instead they have a shaky truce.

Get a load of this guy. QueeQueg is an eccentric extremist who believes it’s hit right to hunt whales and that anyone who opposes that right is evil. He uses a variety of harpoons and torpedoes to take out anyone he sees as a part of the “dark forces of anti-whaling” and has fashioned himself after a character from Moby Dick. Turns out he’s more of an Ahab.
Just imagine this guy with a Green Arrow-like arsenal of trick harpoons and high tech torpedoes ranting about “My rights” and calling Aquaman a “woke zombie”. And there are people who think comics never used to tackle political issues.
I extended his facial tattoos to fit a CMYK theme across the rest of his design.

Karaku, the volcano god, is the 1st of the Fire Trolls who Atlanna and her followers gave sacrifices to keep asleep on an ancient Atlantean settlement. The settlement is covered in dormant Fire Trolls. Aquaman finds the island alongside Mera and reunites with his mom for the first time since she was forced to abandon him due to the Atlantean superstition about his blonde hair. While Mera can’t kill Karaku she does crush his head with a giant water construct.

I love the idea of Karaku. While the Lava Lord is a mutated Fire Troll given higher intelligence he is their creator god and hold malice towards Aquaman. Like Kamo, Mother Shark or Triton I would love to see him more thoroughly integrated into the world. Maybe connected to the Parliament of Flame and Kako.

Mai Miyazaki was a radical environmentalist trying to out an oil company for abandoning an oil spill, which the director had set on fire while her boat was on the water. She was burned but Maya, the spirit of the Earth, transformed her into a water elemental. A few heroes stop her from taking revenge on the company before she gets into a fight with Corona.

Since she’s basically a water version of Corona I feel they share a lot of potential. Since Aquaman is an avatar of the Parliament of Waves it could be interesting to use her as an in-between between them.

A newer villain. Atlan forged artifacts from the Gold of Legacy he stole from Legend’s alchemist dad. Legend wants to reclaim his dad’s gold and take revenge on Atlan’s family. This happened so long ago that he needs to bind himself to suits of armour in order to live longer (1 lifetime per suit). He became the king of Trezygstan.
Atlan and Legend have been difficult characters for me to draw. Atlan since there are 2 distinct versions of him that don’t line up well but are essential to major stories. Legend because of his heavily detailed suit.

T-Cher wasn't made for combat and would likely play a more supportive role in the game. He would buff his allies with motivational support and "advice" similar to a White Mage casting Aquaveil. I could also see him using machines or stored home remedies for healing. Due to his untiring body, he would likely have a large amount of Willpower and little need to rest. I could see him having an ability that lets him skip the wait time for respawn by setting up a "spare body" to jump right into if killed. He would have no way of knowing if the body was found and destroyed by enemy players though.

Bruce's "Hulks" are a lot more fascinating than just representations of his emotions. They are the things he rejects about himself, cut away and left to germinate into new avatars of his will. The unloved children of his mind who often hate and reject him as he does them.

Bruce Banner is a great example of early Marvel's tendency to create "imperfect" of even "unheroic" heroes with each persona another glimpse into his often abrasive "true" personality. I feel that the most telling aspect of the Hulks is how they all represent a piece of Bruce and that barely any of them have a nice word to say about him and more often than not they seem to hate him.

I don’t know much about her since I’ve only read her in a few Teen Titans issues.

She’s the protector of Sub Diego (Californian city that sunk but managed to survive like a modern Atlantis) whose entire family died when it sunk. She technically began as Ocean Master’s Aquagirl since he and Aquaman had switched lives, and kept her costume and identity after the reveal. It seems like she has a lot of self worth issues and a lack of direction in life. (Tempest can relate)

She wanted to become the queen of Xebel and came to Aquaman’s dimension to prove herself and defeat Mera.

I think she’d be a lot more interesting if she got to stay Queen. With Mera no longer being there and Xebel having so many political problems I think a newer version of this story could have her gain Mera’s approval when they stop fighting and talk about her ideas for the kingdom. Maybe she’s a more peaceful ruler who could set them on a better path?

A god-like entity first appearing as a pink blob. I honestly can’t find much on the character, but I remember reading a random issue with him in it when I was a teen. I think his story had something to do with a few gems giving him his power and a Russian sub.

Every rogues gallery needs a random shrub with god-like power so I included him.

When I first heard of Krush I figured a “giant crustacean mutate who runs the Atlantean criminal underworld” sounded amazing. Turns out he’s not the mountain I imagined, but still cool (And he could mutate further. Maybe become big enough to run his racket out of his own shell?).

Nemek is big whale who helps Aquaman a few times. He’s old and battle-scared, giving Aquaman advice but not always in the most respectful manner. I imagine him as a mentor figure who mostly keeps to himself but helps out when asked nicely.

The Theirna Na Oge call their leader a “King” regardless of gender. Bres and the Conclave of 12 ousted and sentenced her to die by Sreng of the Firbolg. She escaped but lost her arm which was replaced with a mystic, cybernetic, organism made of silver and she took the name Silverhand. After he helped get her throne back she became an ally to Aquaman.

The monster who took Nuada’s hand.
There’s not much info on him so I want to talk about how weird it is that DC gender-bent Bres and Nuada, who are based on figures from Irish myth. If there’s a reason they did this I’d love to hear it.
I believe Atlan should have sealed the Abyssal Dark using the Zodiac Crystals, which is why they would have been shattered among the Lost Cities. With most Atlanteans turning from sorcery the crystals power is waning.

Miya Shimada was a Japanese-American superhero in WWII who became disillusioned with America due to the treatment of Japanese citizens at the time. She would eventually joins the All-Star Squadron after Neptune Perkins and Green Lantern help her to free Japanese-American prisoners.
She eventually has a child with Atlan, who Perkins and the villain Rhombus thinks is their own.

An alien parasite which possesses and mutates anything it can find with enough of a “negative mindset”. It acts on pure id and forces the conscious mind to watch as it destroys everything it can find until it runs out of water and reverts. When Laurence Quinn was exposed to Strange Water (an unnatural water-like essence) he unleashed it on the Earth.
A newer villain that comes off like the Fisherman at level 70. I haven’t read anything with it, but I look forward to getting there. (Imagine it got into Devil Fish)

This assassin couple are OLD characters forced by the Organization for General Revenge and Enslavement (O.G.R.E.) to kill Aquaman and Mera. The two turn out OK and our heroic couple help them escape the organization.

I want these two to be a more permanent part of the Aqua-Rogues, but not so much them as their names. I’d like to see a Huntress and Typhoon, one in purple, the other yellow, with a cheetah print theme reoccur in one form or another through Aquaman’s history. They have a nice gimmick and the originals have a sweet love story.

I could easily see OGRE replaced with NEMO in a retelling.

A Xebellian elite who was forcefully conscripted to the army, married an elite soldier who formed a peaceful protest group to change their peoples militaristic ways, and witnessed the killing of many form the group. Lucia turned to violence to get her way and this led to the group being seen as murderers.

She left her people and city, found love with a human diver promising a better life if she helped him, she tested him and he failed, and he turned out to be Black Manta and nearly killed her. She’d gotten pregnant in the time they knew each other.

Aquaman is not the only Atlantean with a fascination for surface culture. The metahuman with visible gills and fleshy “wings” under his arms is a “self-taught Janissary” who joins n extremist group called Onslaught, who operate out of Kahndaq and Kasnia. He also attacks Sub Diego.
While they don’t go too far into the backstory, Atlanteans are known for their mistrust and prejudice towards others and it couldn’t have been easy growing up in that environment as a meta. It’s not hard to see why he would become fascinated with another culture or how interesting he would be as an Aqua-villain if DC would use him more.

An adventurous woman who saves her soon to be husband from drowning and sires a child who would one day become one of Earth’s greatest heroes. Aquaman’s mom is different in every continuity, but this image is based on when she escaped Atlantis and made a new society on an island inhabited by Fire Trolls and the god Karaku whom she had to sacrifice too. She’s become hard over the years, and due to the Atlantean peoples way of life, and has to be shown how they’ve changed by Aquaman and Mera.

Bres is from Thierna Na Oge, one of the 5 Lost Cities of Atlantis whose people developed “aqua-green skin and golden orange hair” who embraced sorcery and became isolationists. Their people are called the Tuatha De Danann and worship the goddess Dana. They possess the Lia Fail, made from a piece of the Zodiac Crystals (12 Atlantean gems created by a husband and wife mage team that help channel the mystic energy of the Earth). She teams up with Ocean Master to take the throne from her sister Nuada.

He’s a ghost who haunts the Atlantean treasury and looks horrifying. Just keep him around as part of Aquaman’s council. It’s too good.

I don’t know if Aquaman has ever interacted with Kamo, but I believe they should. Aquaman’s connection to Mother Shark and the Parliament of Waves should make him a point of interest for any water related deity and his occasional battles with Kamo’s wayward son should at least be of interest to him. In at least 1 continuity Aquaman actually doesn’t like sharks and I think it would be funny if sharks and shark deities actually like him very much.I could see Kamo liking Aquaman so much that it encourages King Shark (who I believe is not on great terms with his dad) to fight him more often.

I will get to this eventually. Had some tablet trouble and a few life things pop up so it may take some time for me to get caught up enough to do another DrawThisInYourStyle, but I like your designs.

I imagine Arkkis would be a pretty good brawler, using speed to role out of the way and line up his own shots. He wouldn’t be as strong as Brik of Kilowog, but he’d make up for it with some Yellow Lantern style Stun abilities (which could be shows through him threatening to eat people). This would make him a good candidate for GL on GL combat. His constructs would allow him to shred his enemies but he has to get in close to do real damage.

His people are similar to Klingons in that they revere honour. He was an archivist before joining the Corps, but defeated his predecessor in combat using a yellow war-suit. He was brought to trial but found worthy of the Corps.
