Again, a great point! One wonders how many different versions we could create if left to our devices. How long before we crack??? Anyway, it's late and I'm crashing out. I really appreciate the chat!!

it's going out whether they feel it's ready or not. I also recognize there may be a need to tinker endlessly. I mean, I' m pretty a Michael Mann stealth recuts all his movies before they hit the physical media market now. That said, how do painters know when to stop? How do you with your work?

Those are great points and it's been a while since I considered them, but I feel I was probably saying the same thing a few years ago about some re-release or another. Haha! A lot of times with large scale films, the release of the work is often pre-determined by other factors and

Yeah, that's a great point. I think some artists are never done, though. Although as previously mentioned, I don't think this is artistically driven at all. Also just want to say I have zero issue with yourself or Joe and I hope all this is coming across as just good natured chat.

Ha! Yes, that would solve it! Just think how Disney would have to struggle without all that extra cash, though!

...can be a problem. But I don't know how to solve that other trying to tell a giant corporation 'no, go put it on Disney Plus instead'.

For me, I think it may be that there is no purity in film, or at least there wasn't when I was growing up. The cut you saw at home on TV was different from the version at the cinema, as was say, the airline version. In terms of punishing other movies I do agree that their dominance in the market..

To your point on definitive versions, I think it's up to us which version suits us best, really. That said, I wish Disney were a bit bolder and let the Marvel directors put out new cuts for those that want to. There's fun stuff on the cutting room floor, no doubt.

All true. I just don't find the idea of a new version all that problematic if I'm being honest with myself. I mean, I do see it for the marketing ploy it is, and do take on board people's issues with it but I'm pretty sure I'll be seeing it.

Whilst I get what you're both saying, I also have to remember I've sat through at least three cuts of Blade Runner, at least two cuts of the original Star Wars trilogy, two cuts of the Lord of the rings trilogy, two cuts Donnie Darko and tons recuts and greeted them all with excitement.

It's insane how sci-fi movies of that period were so horny, all whilst being certified ok for kids. I mean Flash Gordon is crazy horny.

I'm being (gently) bullied to share my Ko-fi.

Long story short, I moved back in August/September on top of everything else happening in the world and I had to run up a credit card bill to get a new bed and buy a bunch of necessities I haven't had to worry about til now.

AI in most places is just one line circle jerk of corporations spaffing money so other corporations can just spaff money. What a fucking useless endeavour it's been so far.
