$3.6 billion for LAPD plus hundreds of millions in settlements for police violence and misconduct every single year for the next decade plus.

This is what our ruling class has decided will be normal.

Karen Bass is proposing a $124 million increase to the LAPD's operational budget. This would bring their total budget to north of $3.6 billion

One thing that doesn't get counted as part of their total budget is liability payouts. That's why the $3.4 billion is tricky in itself. We should see at least $100 million in liability payouts for LAPD fuckery this fiscal year. For fiscal year 24-25, that number was $155 million

LAPD requested $2.27 billion for their operational budget and Karen Bass is proposing $2.11 billion. It is important to note their entire budget for the last fiscal year is closer to $3.4 billion and we implore people to use that number as it factors in pensions, etc

LAPD Deployed Drones to Spy on No Kings Protest Flight records show that Los Angeles police dispatched drones 32 times over last month’s No Kings rally.

NEW: Flight data reveals that the LAPD's "Drone as First Responder" program—sold to the public as a public safety measure—is in fact being used to spy on anti-ICE/anti-Trump protests in Los Angeles.

I also sued LASD for their Flock data and other records this week. @riccisergienko.bsky.social and @westonrowland.bsky.social are repping me on that case.

And we have receipts. Jim Dolan's security team at Madison Square Garden surveilled this woman over the course of *years* and in the smallest detail ... because she was trans.

The report about the surveillance at Madison Square Garden and other James Dolan properties is insane and towards the bottom, there’s a reveal that this kind of surveillance will also be used against fans during the World Cup

Police officers in full riot gear mounted on horses. The headline reads “Scoop: City of L.A. Facing Over 120 Claims For Damages Related To Anti-ICE Protests Amid Financial Crisis”

These claims for damages come at a time when the city is in a financial crisis, largely due in part to the number of past lawsuits filed against the LAPD.

LAPD is literally going to bankrupt the city due to their unrelenting violence. The mayor & city council will continue to increase LAPD’s $3.5 billion, sending the message that the police are free to keep attacking Angelenos, especially since the settlements don’t come out of the LAPD budget.

> “The message from the city, the mayor, City Council, is that LAPD is free to go out and attack and assault Angelenos, and their budget will remain the same,” Sergienko says. “The city will continue to go broke paying these settlements. It's just ridiculous.”

Trump Admin Dealt Another Blow In Court After Professor Found Not Guilty California philosophy professor Jonathan Caravello, who was arrested while protesting an immigration raid, faced up to 20 years in prison.

“Jonathan Caravello, 38, faced up to 20 years in prison if he was convicted of the charge. The verdict is the latest blow to the Trump administration, which has thrown baseless assault charges at people who protest its mass deportation operations — but has repeatedly failed to secure convictions.”

120 claims related to LAPD’s response and violence towards anti-ICE protesters over the past 10 months. Literally going to bankrupt the city.

LAPD misconduct has defunded the City of Los Angeles to the tune of $430 million. That will soar after new claims the past few months.

Karen Bass has been an elected official 20+ years. As mayor she appointed the chief and entire police commission.

She’s never said ONE WORD about this in public.

The event below ⬇️ took place last summer. I'm still thinking about last week when LAPD plucked out the eye of an 18 year old lad. They (intentionally) shot him in the eye with an impact munition. At point-blank range.

Cops are shooting to mutilate. As a tactic.

I can assure everyone that LAPD doesn't always shoot "less lethal" munitions at people's head.

Sometimes they shoot at people's groin.

(JFC... They're under a federal injunction that prohibits this conduct. Why do we NEVER hear about any officers punished?)

New from 404 Media: the FBI was able to extract incoming Signal messages from a phone even though the app was deleted. Why? Because parts of messages were stored in the iPhone's internal notification database. Shows how secure chat data can come from unexpected places www.404media.co/fbi-extracts...
