One thing that doesn't get counted as part of their total budget is liability payouts. That's why the $3.4 billion is tricky in itself. We should see at least $100 million in liability payouts for LAPD fuckery this fiscal year. For fiscal year 24-25, that number was $155 million

LAPD requested $2.27 billion for their operational budget and Karen Bass is proposing $2.11 billion. It is important to note their entire budget for the last fiscal year is closer to $3.4 billion and we implore people to use that number as it factors in pensions, etc
