People do not appreciate what a vast, fundamental sea change batteries are bringing to the electrical system.

According to @ember-energy.org, India was the world’s second largest market for solar power in 2025. And this might not change for a very long time.
‘solar installations reached 647GW in 2025, up 11% from 2024…Combined with wind power, the two technologies added a record 814GW of new capacity’
The IEA's Head of the Energy Technology Policy Division- Timur Gül - said it was developed from technology used to stabilize sound waves that were used in seismology to detect oil and gas reservoirs.
So TIL.
Today I learned that Auto-Tune was developed from oil exploration technology. Thanks @iea.org for that bit of trivia.
So we have the O&G industry to thank for T-Pain. Conclude as you will.

Any suggestions on what else should be included in my neo-classic patch sleeve fellow energy nerds?
My @jamesglave.bsky.social inspired clean energy tattoo sleeve is coming along nicely.
I started with a wind turbine blade through the heart, and just added a Francis Turbine runner, next up solar, storage and the ever so classic "maitres chez nous" fist with lightening.

This is what peak performance looks like.
Yes sir, I am here enjoying some interesting discussions.
Once again, can someone please explain to me how Canada's oil and gas sector has been constrained and that there is a need to invest in more production supporting infrastructure? The oilsands seem to be doing just fine.

Okay so on Friday I went to go see a @ottawaredblacks.com game and my bike was one of maybe 10 locked up at TD place.
Tonight I'm cheering my beloved @atleticoottawa.bsky.social and multiple bike racks were full, I had to go to one of the overflow racks.
The Red Blacks had an attendance of 20K+

A study of six years of longitudinal data across 14,011 blocks in 28 U.S. cities shows - again! - if you build protected bike infrastructure people will ride bikes.
🔋🚗💰 Canada’s walled-off, uncompetitive car market is keeping the best options from the many Canadians who do, in fact, want EVs, write Clean Energy Canada's @racheldoran.bsky.social and @joannakyriazis.bsky.social.

Finances are not exactly my strong suit, but there are brilliant people out there who know how to line up the💰needed to build #RenewableEnergy and #EnergyStorage projects.

I didn't realize that June was Canada's Portuguese Heritage Month! I knew that June was Global Cycling Month, including UN World Bike Day (June 3).
So, as a proud Luso-Canadian with a serious cycling problem, I think I need to plan a ride to grab a bifana and a beer!

It is a 20-minute walk to the Parliamentary Precinct, a 15-minute walk to the Byward Market, a 10-15 minute bike ride to Lansdowne Place, a 20-30 minute bike ride to Gatineau Park, and features the Rideau River multi-use pathway system and Strathcona Park right nearby.
Are you looking for a mostly electrified house (brand new heat pump and 200 amp service) in a dense, walkable, bikeable, tree-filled, and quiet neighbourhood with excellent access to transit, the arts, Parliament, and restaurants?
Well, then you should buy my house👇

I love the Westminster Parliamentary system because of its absurd and arbitrary ties to tradition - it is a check on autocracy. Also, the system depends on a man in a tail coat and funny hat, whose job title is "Usher of the Black Rod", which is hilarious.
The dragging of the Speaker of the House of Commons is one of my favourite absurd traditions in the Westminster Parliamentary system. It is a beautiful thing.
I hope Francis does not get get his head chopped off should the Commons displease His Majesty King Charles III, King of Canada.
⚡Mark Carney’s “all of the above” energy pitch—pipelines, CCS, renewables—lands at a turning point for Canada’s climate policy. We asked experts for their take.
