Congress was denied entry to both the U.S. Department of Education and the Treasury, where Musk staffers blocked the doors. Along with its appropriations responsibilities, Congress holds oversight authority over federal agencies. Blocking congressional access to these agencies is illegal.

Democracy does not work in the shadows. Autocracy does. Not Democracy.
Democracy does not skirt the rule of law.
Rep. Jeffries and I are standing together on a bill to fight back against DOGE’s middle-of-the-night actions in Treasury Department payment systems.
This is so good.
An unelected shadow government is conducting a hostile takeover of the federal government.
DOGE is not a real government agency.
DOGE has no authority to make spending decisions.
DOGE has no authority to shut programs down or to ignore federal law.
DOGE’s conduct cannot be allowed to stand.
REP. RASKIN: “We don’t have a 4th branch of government called Elon Musk.” 🇺🇸
Shout-out to @jessdiaryofamom.bsky.social for mentioning the “5 Calls” app in her post this morning as it will be super helpful for me as well as so many others that want to do something but don’t know where to start!
The app is free in the App Store, so go download it and call Congress!
I’m participating in the challenge as well, but no idea what books I hope to read as my mood determines that for me when I finish one book and look for my next. 😂
Jasmine Crockett: "The problem is that Americans thought it was okay to take a full fledged criminal and make him the President of the US and then they want to act aghast when he does criminal things. Let me tell you, we have a thug in charge of the US and if we don't wake up we may not have a US"
I continued my romance genre preference from the last half of 2024 into January, but made a switch to a fantasy novel that’s been a bit slow-going so it’s taking me a while to get through it.
This makes four out of 50 books for my goal this year, so 46 more to go! Let’s do it!

Trump's been purging and intimidating USAID employees.
Now there’s a rumor he'll dissolve USAID as an independent agency.
It was created by JFK and established in law to further our national security and spread hope.
This'd be illegal and against our national interests.
MEMORANDUM FOR THE PENTAGON PRESS ASSOCIATION SUBJECT: New Annual Media Rotation Program for Pentagon Press Corps For over a half-century, the Pentagon Press Corps has benefited from working out of individual office spaces that provide coveted and open access to some of the Department's top military and civilian leaders. Known as the Correspondents' Corridor, this office space loaned to media outlets by the Secretary of Defense stands as a tribute to the importance the Department has long placed on informing the public about the U.S. military and all it does to project peace through strength. It also honors the many correspondents who put their lives on the line, and in many cases died, while covering our finest in battle. In order to broaden access to the limited space of the Correspondents' Corridor to outlets that have not previously enjoyed the privilege and journalistic value of working from physical office space in the Pentagon, beginning February 14, 2025, the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs will implement a new Annual Media Rotation Program for those dedicated media spaces. Each year, one outlet from each press medium - print, online, television and radio - that has enjoyed working from a physical office in the Pentagon will rotate out of the building to allow a new outlet from the same medium that has not had the unique opportunity to report as a resident member of the Pentagon Press Corps. This year, the following news outlets will begin their rotation by vacating their physical office space effective Friday, February 14, 2025: Print - The New York Times TV - NBC News Radio - National Public Radio Online News - POLITICO In their place, the following outlets from each medium will be invited to move into the Correspondents' Corridor workspaces formerly occupied by the above four outlets. Print - New York Post TV - One America News Network Radio - Breitbart News Network Online News - HuffPost News (aka The Huffington Post)
To be clear, the outlets that vacate the spaces loaned to them by the Secretary will remain as full members of the Pentagon Press Corps. They will continue to enjoy the same media access to the Pentagon and will be able to attend and cover briefings and be considered for travel with civilian and military leaders in the Department as they have previously. The only change will be giving up their physical workspaces in the building to allow new outlets to have their turn to become resident members of the Pentagon Press Corps. Thank you in advance for participating in the Pentagon Press Corps Annual Media Rotation Program. By turning over the office space loaned to you by the Secretary, you will ensure that new outlets will have the same opportunity you have enjoyed covering our nation's finest up close from office spaces inside the walls of the Pentagon. NBC News is being kicked out of its space in the Pentagon and replaced by OANN.
This is what the government did with 120K+ Japanese Americans in 1942.
I know. I was there in those camps.
I’m proud to live in @repjasmine.bsky.social ‘s district!
Cherry!
It’s a hard pill to swallow.👇
Well said, Pete Buttigieg
Grabbed this photo of Willow the other day and after sharing it in a social media group I’m in, I cackled when I got a reaction of 🍤!

Same.
Ok #booksky, let’s talk.

White background with black text that reads “A whole generation worked to empower women, but forgot to teach men how to live with empowered women.” The quote is attributed to a social media account named Echoed Wisdom.
Image is a push notification from the LinkrdIn app that says “Follow Vivek Ramaswamy, Founder at Vivek Ramaswamy” and includes a thumbnail of his profile picture in which Vivek is looking to his left, holding a microphone in his left hand, and pointing out to what can be assumed is a crowd of people in front of him.
When the LinkedIn algorithm is wrong, so very wrong…
The same Republicans who have made an absolute spectacle over which bathroom a transgender Congresswoman could use, completely ignored how the traitorous ex-president used one of his.
Maybe it’s me, maybe I’m old fashioned, but I’m pretty sure our president shouldn’t be a rapist, our DNI shouldn’t be on a TSA watchlist list and our head of counterintelligence should probably be able to pass a background check.
Right?
I’m pretty sure that if some CEO got fired from his job & on his way out he told a mob of crazies to show up with zip ties, flag poles and tasers and to bash in the windows & smear poop on the walls, that he wouldn’t get hired back a few years later, but what the hell do I know.
The struggle is real!
Your purpose on earth is not to argue with people who intentionally want to misunderstand you
You're not "late to the party" when you enjoy an old book for the first time. Books don't have an RSVP deadline. The party started long ago, and guests show up when they're meant to.
