THOUGHTS ON UKRAINE
"I always hesitate to bring my political beliefs into this space. I don’t think my listeners would expect that from me and some of you will find it disappointing: not what you were looking for... But the recent reversal of our support for the Ukrainian resistance to Putin’s invasion motivates me to cross that line.
Were we wrong about Zelensky, the hero of Ukraine?
Were we wrong to feel the brotherhood of freedom in their struggle to resist the unprovoked attack upon their young nation?
When they fought the bully Putin to a standstill with righteous resistance.
When they stood up to the tyrant and stoically paid the price in patriots’ blood, were we not thrilled at their courage?
How do we now turn away? To stand by, mute and cowed, as the men who would be king: Putin, Trump and Musk, huddle in their fortress and decide the fate of nations, shutting out the people they betray?
Is this what has become of the cradle of liberty, …and the home of the brave..? That we slide the hidden dagger in the back of those who were our champions? While our allies in the defeat of Hitler and Stalin witness our betrayal in disbelief…"

Prince William sitting with Prince Albert at the Villa game in Monaco. When we played the Super Cup there in 99, Prince Albert sat on the bench next to Fergie!

Unless you’ve been in Strettie tier 2 you won’t have seen this statue of the Lawman. Here he was yesterday.

I’ve had this little badge since I was a kid, in spite of Denis spelt wrongly. I have always measured every United striker against Denis. None have matched him. He style, skill, bravery and swagger. So so sad 😢

It’s the hope that kills you.

Hmm. Unexpected returns. Wonder how they define that. Would be easy to say they were expected hence flog at £66. There were a lot of single tickets available for Newcastle game that weren’t sold so maybe they realise for some games they have shot themselves in the foot!

I think you’re right.

During the Great Fire of London the rumour quickly spread that foreign migrants were responsible. Foreigners were beaten up & even lynched.

The fire’s severity was in fact caused by unusually dry conditions and high winds.

Sparky was the only bloke both me and my mum fancied. My mum only rang me early on a Sunday morning twice. Once to tell me Princess Diana had died the other was to tell me Sparky had been given an MBE 😂

Huge number of day trippers today too. Which never helps the atmosphere.

Tbh it was mostly at Onana taking aeons to get the ball in play. He’s beginning to do our heads in.

I agree about the singing at the end but it was quiet in the ground today with very little singing and a totally flat atmosphere. But that doesn’t excuse the performance.

I was there are was telling an 11 year old about it at the game tonight! It was 3-1 Sheringham scored our goal. It was 1998. I can honestly say we didn’t regret losing that game 😉
Btw that was United’s first game without Kiddo as he’d gone off to manage Blackburn.

‘Dealing’ with mental health issues are rarely that simple.

As I said for the last 18 months something has been seriously wrong with Marcus. Being a professional sportsman and not having any money worries doesn’t mean he can’t feel isolated and alone. And the abuse he’s suffered even from match going fans has been awful.

Seemed like he was carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders. I still think he’s the most talented player in the squad, but for his sake I think it’s time for him to go. But it is all very very sad 😢
