We did the spring fair yesterday. Got there at opening. Spent a cartoonish amount if money. Kiddo had a blast, I got multiple compliments on my choice of dress and shoes, and husband got to live the weeb dream and try takoyaki. Truly a successful day, horrible sunburn aside

sometimes you have to start by discussing your writing only with the people who will gas you up no matter what, and then work up to the ones who will bounce around ideas with you, and then finally to the ones who can say "you're overusing semicolons"

Everyone in the neighborhood probably thinks I’m the worst, most abusive mother the way my child just stood on the balcony screaming for his nana to not leave him here

Kiddo got a haircut over the weekend, which means he can now spike it again! He is being EXTREMELY precious about it, which is hilarious to me. Watched him in gymnastics while the other kids were doing rolls. He pointed at the floor, pointed at his hair, and shook his head no

The kiddo knows SO MUCH about Minecraft and taught me some things today (wither skeletons! Which I kept hearing as river skeletons and was v confused why there were specific skeletons for the river) and it was really cute seeing him so enthusiastic about something

One of my absolute favorite recurring bits on this trip was how many people wildly misjudged how SOLID the kiddo is and tried to casually pick him up.
I heard “oof!” And “god dang!” So many times and cackled every time

Kiddo: let’s play rock paper scissors
Me: ok, you count.
Kiddo: one, two, three I got bomb!

Been in the Boot less than 12 hours and I fear my Twang has returned with a vengeance

FiL saw his first cybertruck at the airport “lookit that funny lil tank lookin thang!” Truly a weird experience for both of us for different reasons
I did delight in telling him about the time bits were falling off those stupid things ☺️

We got on the second smaller plane for the final leg of our flight. Kiddo looked around and said “I think they made a mistake. I think this is a toy plane.”

He’s not even getting on a fight at this terminal! I had to listen to him for over 2 hours and we aren’t even going to the same plane! He just used this terminal because it was relatively empty!

Desperately trying to figure out what company this man operates because he’s been bitching about/at his employees for over 2 hours and I dearly want to know so I can make sure no one ever uses his services again

Bought kiddo a travel pillow and it came with a matching sleep mask. Not gonna lie, a bit jealous

Watching the kid get a real time lesson in physics because he insists on standing up on the lightrail despite the NUMEROUS seats available

Insanely jealous of every person who can chug an energy drink and it actually, you know, gives them energy

Had the brilliant idea to book our flight for 1 am. Tried to convince The Child to take a nap this afternoon as both parents were exhausted.
Unfortunately he has the pre-trip zoomies.
Nobody napped.
Gonna be a long ass night.
