An analysis commissioned by the Jersey City Times found that litter and garbage complaints topped all others on the city’s SeeClickFix app.

That being said, a lot of other runners complained how awful the roads in JC were. Plenty of potholes + more.
Also I really wish they would reconsider the route with cutting the light rail off all day + barely spending any time in Liberty State Park which is such a crown jewel of JC.
Day late but had a great run through JC. 🏅🗽
Phil Murphy really was the deal maker for getting the final at MetLife.
The thing with the Jersey City Half/Marathon (as someone running it a 3rd time now) is I wish the course didn’t result in the light rail being completely cut off most of the day.
Also bc of this, the HBLR doesn’t even complete the runs before 6am, so you’re forced to take rideshare to the start.
One of the things I love most about NYC, and something I cherish, is walking, biking and taking the subway. It’s actually superior to being in a car whenever you have the choice.
No mention about discounts across the board for people not going to NY Penn impacted by this.

Breaking News: Analilia Mejia, a progressive Democrat, was elected to a New Jersey House seat vacated by Gov. Mikie Sherrill.
Every. Day. Now.
The World Cup is really going to have a time.
If we’re putting in a massive convention center + hotel in the Meadowlands, NJ Transit needs to start running shuttle service at least from Hoboken. njbiz.com/3b-meadowlan...
We really need to start upping frequencies on HBLR before this all starts opening up. jerseydigs.com/canal-crossi...

MetLife stadium signs covered for the World Cup + the temporary NJ Transit bus terminal under construction.
From skiing at the American Dream yesterday.

I am pretty sure that if a Democratic US President was in office, lashing out at the supreme pontiff, and blasphemously depicting himself as the savior, the headlines would describe this papal response as defending the church and not “hitting back.”
Super Typhoon Sinlaku.
Sheesh.
Waiting to see what performance turns out to be when they roll out.
The 16-year reign of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán is at an end after a crushing election loss on Sunday that will send political shockwaves from Washington to Moscow.
Would also really, really help with fleet standardization with new MLVs.
The amount of potential this simple connect could have unlocked. The 6 to Newark Penn would have been fantastic for the headways alone.
The engineering schematic
Fun find this afternoon: In 1957, the Port Authority did the engineering work to link the downtown PATH to the Lexington Avenue subway local tracks.
Same with my chapstick tbh.
Extending the 7 + L to NJ could capture many of these riders for less than what the expanded PABT would cost.
This bodes so well for The World Cup.
The issue is where are most of the buses coming from: Bergen/Hudson/Passaic + Shore Areas.
If we put wires up on existing train lines + spent the $11B towards through running/an RER system many of those trips would be shifted to rail. The smaller bus terminal would then exist for intercity trips.
This project is batshit insane and nobody’s paying attention. $11bn is enough to make good progress on regional rail, moving riders from slow, uncomfortable, high-operating-cost buses to trains. Instead it’s happening in isolation from Gateway/Penn planning, resulting in no major new transit service
You don’t need AI Tech to dedicate the center tube to a 2-way busway, 24/7. They can’t even have the XBL exist outside of rush hour or on weekends right now.
And doing nothing to fix the actual way the buses reach NYC (the Lincoln Tunnel). But anytime someone criticizes the project the response online is “but bus riders matter!” They do, and deserve a more effective way to get around. This isn’t it.
