The great @zandercannon.bsky.social came back in 2025 to once again shame everyone in the field by putting out the best book of the year. This is a must-have for the shelf

To clarify — this is not a defense of the immensely amoral and incalculably destructive AI tech bubble. This is merely a snapshot of a smug dipshit internet guy making manifestly ahistorical and instantaneously debunkable arguments. The cancer metastasizes everywhere if not cut out

Honestly this new extra-long season of “Adam Ruins his Credibility” is getting really tedious.

On this most recent episode of The Pitt, one character makes a Rumble Fish reference and another character recognizes it. I was told this was a realistic show.

Dan is, at least, one of the top 3 Spidey writers of all time, and all of these stories are top tier. Though I’m personally partial to Venom Inc…

Look, I agree that it’s a net societal good that sora is shutting down, but it’s going to drastically cut down the number of AI videos in my social media feed of overweight people filling their homes with diarrhea and I’m allowed to mourn.

Joe Bob’s ‘Joyous Cancellation’: The Horror Host on Ending ‘The Last Drive-In,’ How Fans Lifted Him Up and His New Production Company Joe Bob Briggs, the host of Shudder's 'The Last Drive-In,' talks about the show's sudden cancellation and all of the things he's planning to do next.

The thing that makes Joe Bob (and @darcythemailgirl.bsky.social) special is the love. Love of movies, and the love of people, and his sappy, tender heart that gets him choked up reading viewer mail more episodes than not. I’m glad that comes through strongest here: variety.com/2026/tv/feat...

I have to miss this once-in-a-lifetime 35mm showing of my favorite Kurosawa film because I’m officiating a wedding that weekend. It’s unreasonable to ask any of the parties to reschedule, so my request is that someone finally release a remastered 4K disc of this movie. I’m afraid I have to insist.

I got to work with Larry on GI: Joe when it was re-launched at IDW. Both he and Chuck Dixon, two indisputable legends, were so kind and welcoming to be me as a collaborator even though at the time I’d written exactly six issues of comics. But Larry was a special kind of legend so I am not surprised:

Cat Stevens probably intuited that if the dad was missing his son’s childhood because he was getting obscenely wealthy from ruining the world, people might not like the song as much

I wouldn’t expect you to know this — Blaylock has a history of washing his image by working with progressives — and I still fully support you. I’d just ask that if you do another of these, consider working with a different artist. The Chicago comics scene is one of the most vibrant in the country.

Kat, I’ve been a big supporter of yours since you were roasting Tucker Carlson. Not currently a resident of Chicago, but I used to be and I tell all my Evanston and Skokie friends to vote for you. Absolutely love the mailer, but Blaylock is a thief and a grifter who has stiffed dozens of creators

I feel like all those old Marvel bullpen staffers who chain smoked at their desks, hated Stan, hated their jobs, and probably hated comics while churning out 20 pages a week the guys doing it right, but they’re all dead now.

No Derek this is the fun part. We *all* get to do this. And we should never, ever stop until they are all driven from public life and every good restaurant in town.

I’ve been seeing this post circulating and I really hate it. If you’re going to be a pedant about something, you actually have to be correct. That’s the whole point of the exercise! That’s the juice! Anyway, Superman is a refugee. The iconic DC superhero who is an immigrant is Wonder Woman.

Stephen Colbert announced that his last show airs May 21st.
What a coincidence, that's National Cancel Paramount+ Day.

RIP to Sal Buscema, one of the last bronze-age greats. You guys had over two years to do what I said here and I really hope you did it.

It’s sad to think that if these people knew the names of literally anyone affiliated with Broadway other than Dylan, they’d have so much more to rage-tweet about. Just another way an uncultured life leaves you missing so much, even if you’re an evil swine shilling poison. Fund the arts!

This is stunning. Listen to this in Philadelphia.

Thousands singing “Hey-Oh, we won’t be silent while our friends are gunned down.”

Really listen to it.

Is this post about me

Yeah why should people be able to enjoy a hobby that previously had a self-sustaining market so they could still pay their bills? Fuck em, right? Necessities are all they deserve!

To quote this asshole I just saw being a dipshit online: “can you even hear yourself say this stuff out loud??”

FYI — people who do this are largely middle-class people. The margins are a few thousand dollars. It’s the same with comic books (I don’t know a lot about watches but I do know about that.) Collector markets for these kinds of things are aficionados with day jobs, not billionaires.

I try and keep my eye out for that. I’ve seen it plenty too. I haven’t seen it from her yet, but if I’ve missed it, I’m always willing to go look. No sacred cows, just good policy.

Well that’s definitely true. And she actually agrees it’s a fine idea to restrict kids’ phone use in school. What she’s pushing back on in that thread is the “smartphones are bad for kids’ brains,” messaging which is moral-panic junk science that’s being exploited by tech-bros pushing bad laws.
