I love the idea of having middle school students use the primary sources as a safe entry to friendship conversations. We have advisory/homeroom groups that incorporate SEL standards, and this would be a great resource to use.
When students return to school, some will be excited to see friends, while others may experience only anxiety. How would you as a K-12 teacher use the Free to Use and Reuse primary source set from the Library of Congress - "Friendship" - to open up conversations? www.loc.gov/free-to-use/...

Thank you for all you’ve done to help us teach about mis- dis- and mal- information. As I was teaching this to middle school students, I had to come to grips with the effect X was having on me and finally deactivated my account.
Looks like an amazing book.
bsky.app/profile/kate... Looks like a great book from a favorite middle school author!
Love this perspective
Love the fact that everyone can participate without having to buy anything special.

I rely on recommendations from many of the librarians on social media as well as my students to prioritize my TBR, which just keeps growing. I tracked my reading on Story Graph in 2023 and loved it!
I’ve got time to finish one more book in 2023…Odder by Katherine Applegate will be a quick read
This is heartbreaking. I had no idea how much advocacy is involved in being a school librarian until I became one.
I appreciate your podcast so much! You and your guests have been an inspiration and helped me become a better librarian and more thoughtful human.
