If you are a Native undergraduate student, graduate student, a PhD, an MD student/ practitioner you need to understand the Big Data Landscape that seeks to make BioProperty out of your past, present & future relatives without providing better services, economic benefit or even acknowledgement.
The NIH has done a terrible, almost criminal job working with Indigenous people. Because of this they get miserably low Tribal participation, so they propose stealing data through a different data silo.
It will more likely be another extraction of a valuable resource. But this differs because it combines a n issue like gold or lithium with Native children in boarding schools or foster care. Deeply rooted in economic, politics and cultural identity !!!!
Please watch and attend the Q & A. To me this will be a travesty of justice and compound the 534 years of injustice for Amerindigenous people in OUR hemisphere for an unlikely compendium of benefits.
