The extraordinary attention to detail is betrayed by an utter lack of respect for science and engineering. I prefer my science fiction to be at least semi-plausibly grounded in science.

Gorgeous, but nonsensical. Anti-gravity tech is fantasy, and what powers it? If controlling Solstice-5 gives control of Earth, are we to assume that the oil is meant for terrestrial consumption? Why? If you're okay with "nuclear frakking" why aren't you using nuclear power?
