Invasive American Skunk Cabbage isn't losing any time trying to take over the river Alderbourne this spring, but neither are we! If you see this problematic plant anywhere within the Regional Park let us know. If it's your land or a public space we can probably take care of it for you 🤝
It's time! Big Give’s wild sale is on!

Bluebells and birdsong in Northmoor Hill Woods
Did you know the Colne Valley Park manage these irreplaceable ancient woodlands in #Denham ?
Our campaign has the answer. It shows how well-planned growth can contribute toward creation of one of the best green corridors round any city in the UK

We are not anti-development, but we are against uncoordinated plans where no consideration is given to their cumulative impact. There is no masterplan for protection and restoration of vital green spaces to benefit local people.
Residents being ‘asked’ to host these new developments and they deserve urgent joined-up thinking in planning policy for where they live.

The tsunami of uncoordinated development continues with applications to build 1,300 homes on two sites at Iver. This urbanisation will link #Iver and #Richings Park to #Slough.
Yet, these are just two among hundreds of huge proposals in the Colne Valley.

Floating Pennywort is a major threat to rivers, it can regrow from a single node at a rapid rate, up to 20cm per day, forming dense matts of entwined vegetation, which dominate watercourses, obstruct boats, prevent angling, and outcompetes native species.

Pulling Pennywort on the river Colne, INNS etc downstream from our experimental floating boom as part of our research into more effective and sustainable ways to manage aquatic INNS in the regional park.

Many thanks to the #volunteers who help restore the landscape. The Urban Fringe has always faced greater challenges than the countryside but the rate of landscape decline has significantly increased over the last 10 years. Local people are saying "enough is enough".
People are deeply concerned about the dumping of sewage in our local rivers and waterways.
I requested to meet Thames Water at their sewage treatment plant to outline these concerns and hear about what they’re doing to prevent sewage dumping.
for benefit of current and future generations.
Government has the opportunity in 2026 to make good on their 2025 pledges to Protect the Colne Valley. We urge creation of ‘A Corridor for Life’ to restore the Colne Valley as the best green corridor round any city in the UK
