I definitely prefer running at the table with physical props. Your paper minis for the opening of the Delian Tomb made that very easy!

Nah, ask Claude through the Chipotle support app
I bet they will, at some point, be combined into a horrible Megazord of bullshit
"You'd think I died from the massive headwound, but nope! Peanut allergy."
Oooooooh that's an interesting twist
Hahahaha, holy shit
Why am I reposting rent funds? It's still pretty bad here. I am real close to tapped out on donations this month & last, but we're gonna keep going. There's some matching right now, if you've got anything you can spare.

One hour of beatboxing to create a stone Minecraft house? Sounds like an ok deal to me
My DS group crit 5 times last night, and it was one of the best combats I've ever run. The Conduit chained one crit into a 2nd!!
There is the "Familiar" supernatural perk, if a magical corgi suffices
It'd either be Bluesky or one of two meme discord servers I know
Those paper minis look great! Where'd you get them from?
I've gotta listen to those lyrics again, I suppose.
The pre-chorus (or is it just chorus?) probably clips well (swelling rage, pushed me to the brink, etc)
Do you disagree with that definition of high fantasy?
I think Capital is more intended as the "high fantasy zone" with flying carpets and a more broad access to magic. Personally, I think the "high fantasy" designation doesn't mean much on its own, but maybe that's my preference for space fantasy.
What? Where does that claim come from?
The Heroes book explicitly mentions the setting covering high fantasy on page 10.
I think that wouldn't change anything load bearing in the class beyond Knockback/Grab limits. I know of two Mastermind Tacticians using that score swap currently, and it's going fine.
Witnessed an ICE abduction outside my apartment window. They took a mother, her toddler and a pre-teen, then shoved them into a dirty SUV. It was over in under a minute. This is horrifying, I can't stop shaking.
Fuck ICE and their terror campaign.
In solidarity with today's ICE OUT OF MINNESOTA blackout, MinnMax is donating $1 to the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota for every share of this Bluesky post for the next hour.
Don't minions all group together for a singular, static value for a maneuver like Grab? I'm pretty sure 4 minions together would get 8 +characteristic + 4 minions
Oof. Damage immunity, potency mismatch, or something else?
Yeah. On YT, lots of weird political compass meme ads, and military/etc recruitment ads.
Also PragerU ๐คข
Ah. I said "Defunct" because there's a character limit and I wasn't being hyper precise with my wording. Lesson learned, no posting on mobile.
Still, smaller local conventions can struggle to get more than 2 players for a table of non-DnD games, unless there's a significant hook. Like Star Trek.
I feel like my point about name recognition was either missed or ignored.
I love running Cypher-derived oneshots at conventions because it's more about the setting/genre, and the system is super easy to adapt. From my experience tho, even a cool setting or genre can only attract so many players.
Gosh, I'm not saying it's hopeless, just that pure name recognition is biased towards 5e. Chill.
"As far as name drops go"
I love and prefer non-5e games, I was saying that the name drop aspect (how attractive a oneshot would be by name alone) in comparison to 5e for most any game will be less, to the point of being defunct. Maybe that's too strong of a statement for you, but I'm not *wrong*.
I don't think Free League games rise to meet D&D's cultural capital at all. Modiphius's branded games tap into strong franchises (like Star Trek) but their mechanics are awkward for oneshots.
Noting that CoC being bit in Japan is great, but I didn't see any specifiers about country in the question.
Fair, I was using Cypher to reference the overall system that Old Gods and Magnus Archives inhabits. (And Numenera was my first rpg, so I can't *not* bring it up ๐ค)
Regarding name drops, most non-5e games are defunct, no? I still think Cypher is easier to prep and run for that format.
"To Be or Not to Be a Villain", by James Introcaso, Rudy Basso, and Daniel Fox is a game using either 5e or Zweihander that has 2 or 3 GMs with particular duties, intended for groups of 9 players.
One GM is the Director, the other is the Playwright, (and the optional third is the Stage Manager)
Numenera/Cypher System is great for oneshots
