This was a really good piece. AI stinks!

I hope M+J are happy in it! That’s all I want for them.
Oh fun, just started the metabolife ep and cackled three times on the train. We’re only up to 1995.
@harvilla.bsky.social Until the White Stripes ep I’d forgotten how much I loved White Blood Cells. I used to blast Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground angstily while writing polo sci essays about Walmartification and Canadian foreign policy and stuff. It helped!
This book is such a great exploration of post war optimism in a specific Canadian sense (and deeply disturbing about child abuse, obv). I also think I live in the Ottawa suburb where the family relocates and I think about this fat regularly.
I am dreading this era (oldest currently 10). She already hassles me for not wearing enough colours.
Kids LOVE a good agenda!
Love them, used to see them every year at Bluesfest in Ottawa (c 2005). And I know so many people who had Lost Together at their wedding. Funny to think that’s only a thing in Canada!
I had so many boy names! All of them ended in ‘n’ however which doesn’t work with all surnames.
Lovely cover! Is there a publication date for North America ?
Mwah! My name means ‘girl’ in Irish, so that counts.
The way I, middle aged Canadian, immediately got these makes me very happy.
Why in God’s name would we want another bill to pay? And what are we doing while AI thinks for us? Watching shorts?
This is how I handle salty snacks. Just kind of playing in the back of my mind until I eat them.
I lived a year in the UK and never had beans on toast and now I feel disappointed. Although many of my friends were foreign and we mostly hung out in libraries or pubs, neither of which have toaster access.
God I hated the Darkness and I can’t remember why now. Because they weren’t Franz Ferdinand, I guess?
Is this at the National Gallery? I’m pretty sure
Wondering what the most egregious way to misspell Carney would be. Kharni? Karneigh?
Also Iran is a unique country that doesn’t operate like anywhere else and hasn’t for 47 years. You can’t just plop a Pahlavi who’s been living abroad in there and hope it works out
I find this all so interesting, tbh. I can create characters but not plots, so I’ve never written anything beyond some fiction with already established characters.
In my view as a non-Irish person, the support for literature and reading is astonishing. Small countries living next to much larger ones with the same language (Cda, NZ) should copy all of it.
What’s the status of Colleen? Real name or overseas nonsense (be kind, it’s me).
Oddly I have smoking dreams even though I have truly never smoked in my life. My mom and her aunties all smoked nonstop so I assume that’s why but it’s wild!
Oh wow, that’s what nearly killed Sibyl (and my mother with me, in 1980)
So close, and my live blog froze so I held onto hope after it was all over.
Maeve’s mum muttering in the background about perfidious Albion
@janecasey.bsky.social Petition for a story where Maeve and Josh have to arrest and question a senior royal? They’d do it so well….
Hmm, the Van Gogh cherry blossoms? They’d brighten up any room. Nice and big.
Our prior owner liked wiring so whenever he wanted to add something he just…wired in a socket? I have eight in my kitchen, one on top of a cupboard where he had a tv. One over the window for a clock. One over the mantle in the living room for another clock. It’s all safe just…stupid.
Oh that’s so lovely
