Eye, Thorney & Newborough remembers them.

Pictures from each village this morning before I joined Cllr Allen to represent the ward at the service outside Town Hall this morning.

When You Go Home, Tell Them Of Us And Say, For Your Tomorrow, We Gave Our Today. Lest we forget.

Thoughts continue to be with those injured and involved in this hugely distressing attack. Especially, the member of LNER staff who continues to be in hospital in a life-threatening condition.

Of all staff (Including the train driver who lives in our City), the passengers and the emergency services. Without the selfless, brave, quick thinking and actions of these people, this deeply disturbing situation could have been even more horrific. They are heroes.

Investigation update following major incident at Huntingdon - Cambridgeshire Detectives investigating a multiple stabbing on a train in Cambridgeshire can this evening confirm a 32-year-old man who was arrested is now being treated as the only suspect.

As further information becomes publicly available, it is true, as many feared, the attacker lived in our City and boarded from Peterborough Station. I wish to say little more about this individual and instead focus on the stories of the superhuman actions 1/3

Parent delivers 800-strong school crossing petition to Peterborough City Council A concerned parent has delivered an 800-strong petition to Peterborough City Council in a bid to ensure childrens’ safety outside a primary school.

All credit to Katie Berry and everyone who supported and signed the petition. It is naturally a very concerning situation, as risk is being added to an already well-known road of concern.

Thanks @stevewebb1.bsky.social - that’s correct you can buy an annuity without advice. Most intermediaries will get paid a commission for a brokering/admin service for introducing businesses to the annuity provider. Which lowers the annual income (not by much)

It was a great pleasure to put forward a motion asking Peterborough City Council to support the Flag of the Fens and its journey to official recognition from the Flag Institute.

Thank you to all Councillors for their support and warmth for the motion and the flag on the night.

International Women's Day

I took a few pictures of my favourite pieces from the Highlight Her exhibition by Kings Cross earlier this week.

I am truly fortunate to be surrounded by so many inspiring, loving, driven and wonderful women 💜

It was a very special Good Neighbours Friendship Tea in Newborough this week. A 100th birthday party for the wonderful Miriam.

Pictures don’t do her sharp and mischievous nature nor her beauty justice. She is truly a bright and warming light in any room.

A privilege to attend the Holocaust Memorial Day Commemoration.

I felt the service struck a wonderful balance. We looked back to remember the past and the many performances and readings from talented young people showed the amount of light we have coming in the future.

Thank you to Thorney Beavers for inviting me for UK Parliament Week #UKPW

Children created rosettes & messages such as ‘save the environment’, ‘save tractors’ & ‘eat snacks’. They voted for their favourite sweet (Maoam).

Thanks to Dennis Jones as Council Leafer for taking time out to join in!
