Depends on which cost you count. I was vegetarian for years. Got up to 250#, triglycerides 280, and a waist/height ratio of 44"/66". When I had an A1C of 8.4, I went strict carnivore. Now I'm 175#, triglycerides <100, 30"/66" and A1C never above 5. Hard for an animal loving, good liberal, but true.

For years, my S/O and my "big date" each month had been Costco, Trader Joe's, and Awi Sushi on Nevada. For the past year-ish we've forgone the sushi and packed a meal. My Costco tab for the 2 of us and 4 pets this month was $1300, not including a fill-up at the pumps.
