Coiled edge, duh 😂sorry, couldn’t resist.
Many of my early pots had a tortured edge.

Ha, pottery supply hoarding 🙌. People are starting to hoard toilet paper again because of the tariffs, and I’m trying to figure out what glaze chemicals to hoard 😂😭

Thank you. I needed “following” literally spelled out for me 🙏
That said, now I get why folks are making a separate Bluesky account for flashes. The news stuff looks terrible in my feed, and it’d be nice to have a break from it while in flashes.
Off to make a personal news account…

Yeah, I’ve done quinoa and rice, the quinoa sprouted! Both got moldy, so I’ll might try in the summer & leave the pots outside until firing, gets so hot and dry in July I don’t think the organic materials could mold 😅
I am curious how the little planer curlies would fire…might look like wormy wood.

I’ve got a bag of planer shreds I’m saving for something… and a bucket of used walnut shell blast media…I keep thinking I’ll wedge them into a pot for some interesting voids. But I’ll probably just mix them into the yard mulch next time I do a big clean. Gotta stop the hoarding.

Mammillaria gracilis or “thimble cactus” in a 3”x5” pot. The exterior of the pot is cut and torn. The interior is hollowed out, a foot carved, and a nice big drain hole cut. This is glazed with oxides and local waste ash from a BBQ joint.

Mammillaria gracilis in our tiny kurinuki planter. I found these little cuties at East Austin Succulents.
