I'm sorry, WHAT?!
I had to double check that it's not an April 1st, and it isn't!
IT IS REAL, I CAN'T WAIT!

But I played aggressively a lot in sewers, where not so much places to hide and enjoyed it a lot too. Usage of the tail in general for both combat and traversal is the greatest unique feature IMO And after getting used to combat it feels incredible
Played BB1 mostly stealth or run AF through level :D So probably can give feedback on “why so”.
In the beginning combat feels really punishing and stealth feels like it can save you from that punishment and let you damage enemies much more if you want to. So I naturally chose stealth
Maybe I will not make that many games, but definitely need to switch my brain to something bite-sized. Already have an idea for an interesting spin on classic Pong game, it may result in being not fun, but if I’ll like the prototype - I’ll polish the game visually and drop it on itch later.
Stumble upon 20 games challenge. The goal is to make small-ish games, that are already exist, for practice and to learn something new. I think it’s something I need now, because I lack time to work on the main project and start to feel a little stressed because I miss the feeling of finishing a game
Great news!
Hoarder underwater (I guess) gameplay looks like a spiritual successor to Iron Lung.
So cool!

What the fuck Nvidia no
Nobody wants this
Watched several interviews with devs and decided to postpone the purchase, until it’ll have planned DLCs and I will have time for almost infinite game :D
Will probably buy ROUTINE instead.
Came back to this song from The Greatest Showman
And you know, it literally describes my life as a game designer, a kid that played on PS1 and instantly knew that I want to materialize my dreams into the games.
Years passed and now I have skills and relative financial stability to make my own game.
Played Crank it!
That's a creepy game for sure. Highly recommend to try it.
In it you have to crank the handle to recharge the batteries and use those batteries to both: protect yourself and get the elevator running to get out of the mines.
It's incredibly intense.

Now I remembered why I was waiting for the weekend, cool!
ON THY KNEES started as a tiny side project/warm up for my next game.
I ended up expanding on it to learn some new techniques & ideas.
Ended up with a cool little game I think.
You can get it here for Free: toothandclaw.itch.io/on-thy-knees

It looks like Pokémon, but due to international copyright law, it isn’t!
Cool designs, jokes aside :D
For me it’s like a plane made of glass, it looks cool, you can see the effort and skill put into this, you can enjoy looking at it, but it won’t f*cking fly.
Especially as you said - UI. It looks cool, but when you start to use it - it just doesn’t work.
It’s Bungie, and I know for sure that they know how to make games, so I have no Idea what happened with Marathon.
Game let you feel like you’re playing the video game for the first time. And not like “Video games are so amazing” but “What should I press? Where should I go? What am I supposed to do?”
One simple example.
Look, here’s 8 skills. There are 4 types of them in this pic. Can you tell the difference?
Me neither.

Played Marathon Server slam.
Style is unique, animations are awesome, shooting feels good.
Everything else is, well, I don’t think the game will have a long life. I can’t see ammo type, without opening backpack, TONS of text instead of pictures and colour code, etc

When I’ll finish all my freelance tasks this week, I’ll gift myself Mewgenics.
Machin3 have several addons dedicated to Hard surface modelling, but I found Tools incredibly useful for low-poly stuff
I revisit documentation once in a while to remind myself of some features that I’m using not so often
Oh! Also I use align pie a lot to quickly align verts by just dragging mouse
Some I even don’t remember not being a part of vanilla blender, so it’s hard to say haha
Switching between modes with pie on Tab, connecting vertices by different rules with just one button (smart vertices) also creating new object out of selected faces with one button, mirroring objects
Also Shading Pie to quickly switch between shading views, Snap pie from previous message
I use MACHIN3Tools for all my day to day blender stuff and can’t live without it (recommend checking documentation, maybe it’s something you also didn’t know you needed), my Shift + S looks like this in edit mode:
Lower options allows to quickly change origin to something, depending on context
Bearded man looking at a creepy rabbit toy in a deemly lit room
If you like horrors - go watch Caveat without reading/watching anything beforehand.
Movie managed to surprise me, to scare me and gave an interesting story with unique premise.
Recommend.

I’m blown away by how good Parasite Eve 2 is and how much it differs from the first one. So many changes and improvements in both gameplay and graphics that I can’t even process it :D
#ParasiteEve
I also like how they use Zebra instead of a critically acclaimed yellow paint :D
Just finished replaying it with a friend too. Will go into DLC tomorrow :)
Finished Parasite Eve
Last boss is a nightmare
4 phases, the third one felt immortal on the first run really.
And after the boss there’s a chase sequence that you can fail easily.

311 and literally cleaning it up several times, yet it still have 311 great games. The problem is, I already have roughly 300 unplayed games in the library and 39 of them are marked like “I’d start playing it rn and I want it badly”
