I think the lads over at @aotas.bsky.social put it best with the Krotons being a sunday beans and sausages story if I remember rightly.

The differences are night and day.
So weird seeing the prison planet after imagining it in my mind for so many years!
Yeah I'm sure Adrian Hill was lovely but she isn't a good actress. The cliffhanger reprisal at the beginning of Devil's Planet was noticeably dreadful 😂
I'm not normally hot for Nick Cortney but him in that first episode 🥵🥵🥵 he can break into my tardis anytime...

Four Tops> The Temptations any time
These maybe some long paragraphs but I am always willing to champion this era on its merits. That's not to say it didn't have its lows but overall its a consistent and very earnest era, that maybe some fans see as boring. Who knows? Demons of the Punjab is the best Who story ever!
The writers room, the non Cardiff location, new composer, new directors all bring this era a distinct freshness, that as a nine year old I didn't notice since I didn't watch the show, but engaged me on their own merits. And of course Whitaker's Doctor is very very underrated and kept kid me hooked.
Each season is very distinct in tone, visually and in storytelling. I have had the pleasure of meeting of Chibnall and he talked a lot about the importance of tone meetings, which now I can't unsee the influence of on these stories, particularly in Series 11.
I have gone from childish love, to scorn back to faultless praise and now I sit somewhere comfortably in the middle. So much of this era is tainted by toxic discourse that often fans aren't willing to give it a chance over the its perceived reputation and I think that is a real shame.
I have a unique perspective on this era in comparison to the rest of these comments because I was young enough at the time of broadcast for Series 11 to be my first DW introduction. Beyond the nostalgia of nine year old me religiously watching along, my opinions for this era are complex.
I'm crying tears on face this is happening in my life time wtf!!!!

Let's hope it is not terrible like Nosferatu (2025)

I remember this one on first broadcast! How time flies.
A very witty story... let down by the giant cock and ball sack

With all the milestones, how extraordinary this is can get lost!
Last Sunday on the BBC I announced we overtook the Tories at 124k members.
That's +26,000 members in the last week.
Hope is feeling normal again....
RIP to a great man ❤️

Terrible to here that some "fans" can't swallow their own entitlement. You are an amazing charity and I am sure your efforts will eventually recover some Doctor Who and many more film treasures!
